this isn't meant to be an ad post, but I can't post the film here for free when it is up on amazon.
At least when you got prime anyway, it is free to watch, so I thought some of you who helped me here in the past to improve my writing skills might want to have a look:
The shooting for the first feature we've been working on 'Broken Gaieté' is complete now and it is now in the editing process. I helped with some script rewrites and got the producer credits, but it's not my own story.
I'm watching it tonight. I'll get it up on the discussion board tomorrow. And on the main site next week. It's summer and I'm taking The Fat Kid to school tomorrow.
Thank you guys, it's amazing because when I started to write a few years ago, I never thought it would go anywhere. To be invited to two festivals now where I got to visit the U.S. for the first time for free is a miracle on it's own for me.
I don't think any of it would've been possible without the help from this forum. I remember when I started, my scripts were completely terrible and if I look at those first attempts now I got to laugh It was your guys feedback and help that made every new script a little better than the previous one.
About the film: I'm not 100% happy with some decisions the director made, but I think overall, he did a great job in capturing the tone I had in mind when I wrote this script. Some things were changed for budget reasons, which did the film no good in my opinion. While the script won best short at Wildsound festival for example, they refused to feature the film afterwards. I don't want to write spoilers here, but I'm curious on your feedback on the film to see if you come up with the same points as me. Looking forward to the discussion.
Fun fact: The film was shot in the private villa of Mr. Medoff (Tony award winner) and the lead role is played by his daughter, Jessica Medoff
