Thanks, will grab any that I don't have already. I'm so far behind on reading pro scripts, entire folders overflowing with unread ones. Somewhere along the line, it started to feel like work reading a script.

If it's good, I still enjoy it just as much, get transported, lose track of time, all that good stuff.

But I feel no incentive to read them now... almost feels like a chore, like going to the gym.

I think others have mentioned similar experiences. I don't like it lol.

Two steps to writing a good screenplay:
1) Write a bad one
2) Fix it

I've never read a pro script. Not all the way through. I never understood the reasoning behind it. I know the argument that said if one wants to get better they need to read pro scripts... but, to me, screenwriting is just telling a story using a certain format. The biggest help for me, aside from this site (and even Jeff), was reading 'Save the Cat'.

I dunno, I actually just like reading them for general enjoyment more than anything. Don't know why, but I've always loved them. More than books. More than movies even.

I guess when you work really hard at writing, your brain starts associating it with that. Whereas it used to be I'd read a script to relax and escape from strenuous work. Oh well...

You've hit upon an excellent point here and the reason I never got into music. I just love music too much. I don't want to listen to a piece and analyse it for flaws. I just want to enjoy it.
