I watched this yesterday, absolutely fantastic film, the production is top class, the acting is brilliant, it's just very hard to fault.
If you want to see how effective a short can be at eliciting emotion in a very short space of time, you need to give this a watch.
Congrats again, Dave. Produced shorts can be so hit and miss, but this is one that you can truly be proud of. |

Been waiting for this for ages. Finally. After brekky and after my OWC votes are in this is on my must-see list! Will give you my verdict later, Dave. I know you'll be on tenterhooks. |

Decided to shell out the big bucks ($2.80) to buy it and then watched it with Hubby on the big screen for maximum effect.
Very slick, very polished, and very well acted. How the heck was that location found?
It must be so nice to see your name come up on a top notch production.
Definitely worth the wait, Dave. |

Ah, thanks Libby. The location was the Mira Loma jail in Lancaster, California. It has been shuttered for about a decade and has been used for several movie shoots. Now here is the fun part. Coincidentally, I worked for the County of Los Angeles for 30 years and was the Director of the department that was responsible for maintaining that jail. I was able to be on set for day one of the shoot - it was like old world and new world colliding. Thanks for the view - glad you l liked it. |

Wow! That's synchronicity for you, Dave.
I remembered you saying you were on set too. I just didn't expect to see it on such a grand scale - the prison, I mean. Definitely made things authentic. |

Will watch tonight! Look forward to it. I think I can spare the buck (although a US dollar is like 1.50 AU just so you fully appreciate my commitment). |

Okay, now I finally watched it. That had great acting and everything. It also felt very faithful to the original script from what I can remember. I can see why it's racking up the prizes. That Director must be happy she chose you and Warren's scripts cuz it looks like she's about to sweep all the award contests lol. |

Wow! Great stuff all around. The acting and writing very standout with the bonus of a great director and DOP. Loved some of the shots, the choices with lighting etc all excellent. The writing in this stands out a mile, making it a very easy script to work.
One for the portfolio which I imagine looks quite special and something many emerging writers can only dream of. I'd say keep it up, but I know you will anyway. Cracking job. |
