Hubby and I were going to watch a movie last night, but then that went by the wayside as we felt compelled to watch the retelling of events on that fateful day. Amidst the tragedy there were remarkable stories of courage and self-sacrifice.
To all of you impacted by the devastating events of that day, to those who lost loved ones, to all the brave souls who risked their lives and lost their lives, we remember and honour you.

Sitting at home on Long Island, a safe distance from the city, and watching this in TV the entire day. It was surreal. I remember our first softball game that Sunday. It was so quiet. No air traffic to speak of save for the occasional military plane, which prompted all of us to immediately in the air to see what it was.
I remember thinking things are so different now. Things will never get back to normal and we are forever changed.
We did eventually get back to normal. Things did return to the way they were. And I say all of this from my own vantage point, not directly affected by the events, meaning I was not in the towers or their vicinity.
That’s why I have hope that things we are seeing now are just a blip on the radar. A big one, but I feel one day we’ll all look back and say remember when.
God bless the first responders and all the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.
I was in my bedroom in NZ when my roommate came in shaken telling me world war 3 had begun and America was under attack. I've always loved NYC and I had a pic of the twin towers on my wall.... so surreal.
"Turn that off, our friend has just been killed in a fatal sunlight accident!"....
