I'm announcing this a few hours early because I have a bit of a conflict later.

According to Mayan prophecies the world is about to end on December 21st at midnight.  Therefore it makes a lot of sense to get in one more screenwriting challenge before that happens.  Right?


Here's the criteria.

Genre: Open

Theme: Your script must contain a prophecy.

• The prophecy must not be the Mayan prophecy or related to the Mayan prophecy.
  
• The prophecy can be as large or as small or as real or as fictional as you want.
  
• The prophecy doesn't have to be the main story line but your story should not be able to exist without the prophecy.
  

Pages: 6 - 12

Budget: Open (but remember most filmmakers that frequent this site like low to no budget scripts).

Due: December 21st midnight - Eastern US time.


Now go write a screenplay, write it as if it were the last screenplay you'll ever pen.  Leave your legacy to the post-apocalyptic world.

I recall hearing about a prophecy when I was in Arizona in 1997.

It mentioned references to a  'Bush that would rise in December 2012, then fall down in a drunken stupor.' And there was mention of ' Dreamscales let loose in the bathing areas of Rams'...

I'm going to do a gritty gangster script with dialogue that wants to be really cool, but hasn't been since the 60's.

I think I'll call it, "Killing them with a Hard On".
