A good turnout.

I haven’t entered but will read a few here and there

It’s quite nice just reviewing the titles and loglines thinking which ones catch the eye

Best of luck folk

Great turnout.

I'm not in, but I'll try to have a look at a few.

There's some good Loglines in there, I think.

Remember, the criteria for scoring will be:

Criteria Met (Y/N)
Overall (1-10)
Story (1-5)
Characters (1-5)
Dialogue (1-5)
Writing (1-5)

Seeing this, I'm glad I did not enter.  I hate scoring like this, to be honest.  Most seem to like it, though, so as usual, I'm alone on my island or mountaintop.

I will be reading and commenting on all, but not scoring.

Great turnout!  Good luck to all.

A nice turnout! Just read and reviewed the first one but I'm out most of today. I will attempt to get through them all it may take me a few days though.

I like the idea of the new scoring system - the only downer is that first script I read had no dialogue. It feels a bit...unfair not being able to award potentially 5 points simply because the writer chose not to include dialogue! Writing without dialogue is tricky and requires skill but here it means less points!

As Anthony stated, if a script has no dialogue, grade according to how effective you think it is without it. If no dialogue really makes the script stand out, give it a 5. If you wish there was just one line in there somewhere, give it a 4. If you feel no dialogue hurts the script, grade lower.

I think if there are scripts without dialogue then they should be scored on how effective the script is without it.

E.g. nice idea, no dialogue, but didn't work very well 2/5... nice idea, no dialogue, and writer does a great job without it 5/5.

Just a thought, and no, mine has dialogue

Good suggestion

*****Just another kind reminderto those of you entering your first OWC:*****

This is an anonymous challenge.

Do not reveal any clues as to your script.

Do not respond or answer your critics in any way - not until the reveal.

** Meant to add: Yes, you can review your own script (or not) to deflect guesses, but make sure you're clever and subtle about it.

I done that in the past.I was both clever and subtle. It still backfired, as I pointed out some of my errors, and my attempt at subtext.

So what happened?

Ha! All the comments after pointed out the same stuff, having been unaware of it until I pointed it out Happened at least three times. After that, I just put a lid on it and only commented on my work until after the reveals. Imean. y'know, what are you going to say reviewing yourself? Right! We are tempted to give ourselves delusions of grandeur!
Which,of course, gives the farm away.

So y'know the old saying.

I just go the modest route. Something like:

A perfect blending of Sorkin and Taritino. How is this writer expecting a crappy mug when an Oscar should be in order.

Me thinks that you can almost say anything and not be revealed other than when you respond to issues raised by other reviewers.

EXACTLY!  If you really like what you wrote, and you wrote it well, go all in...or at least point out an issue that is AMAZINGLY WELL DONE!!!.

If you hated what you wrote and you know it's terrible and embarrassing...TRASH IT!  Trust me, I've done this to myself and I should have been much meaner.

If you comment on every script except your own, some peeps will actually know.

I can say with complete honesty that my entry will not receive a SINGLE NEGATIVE COMMENT...because...well...uh...I didn't enter one.

Could easily be my best OWC!

Whew - got through 20 - taking a rest.

Already got a few favorites.

The challenge parameters certainly made the reads easier - a lot more varied concepts here. Kept it interesting.

Out for now

Damn good turnout - will start reading tomorrow but very little chance of getting to read them all. Apologies to those I don't get to read.

Having a quick skim through the comments, the quality seems pretty high too
