I seriously cannot think of one reason as to what makes this a good idea. This one needs to be left alone.

Some things should not, and cannot be, improved upon.

Let's hope it isn't even attempted.

I mean, American remakes of excellent foreign films (Oldboy, Funny Games, The Ring, etc.) is one thing (although I will admit that The Departed is superior to its source material), but an American remake of an American film fifteen years after the original borders on insulting when there are so many excellent spec scripts rotting in option-hell.

I think the press got carried away with themselves. They do do that, a lot. It's sad. As Private Eye informs us, it's usually writers called Phil Page or Phil Space.

A company has bought the rights to remake a bunch of films, Memento is among them. From what I can see, they have not done a damn thing to start remaking this masterpiece. To me this is fluff and page filling, nothing more. They won't. As they can't. If they do they will fail. Ha.

Haven't seen the first one. Fifteen years ago wasn't really a time where I watched a lot of films. I've read that this was some type of game changer, but I haven't noticed any games being changed so I'm quite happy never seeing it.

I actually didn't like the movie as much. The script I liked better, and I think that the idea behind it is simply brilliant.
I'd watch the remake unless it's too close to the original. why to remake then? I wish they made the main character a bit brighter.

Quoted from CJ Walley
It was a sort of indie darling that I believe didn't make much money (if any). Then it became pure fan-boy gold once Nolan became a household name.

Budget: $9 million
Box office: $39.7 million

Perfectly acceptable BO returns
