Anyone hear of this band? I heard this acoustic song from an album called Punk goes Acoustic, this song called Swing Life Away is one of the top 5 songs I've ever heard... It's beautiful and they are a punk band.

I heard some of there other music but it's just not as good as this acoustic performance, they need do do an acoustic album.

I've been listening to a lot of older and newer punk bands the past few weeks and I've got to say they aren't as bad as I once thought them to be. Rancid kinda made me stay away from this genre of music but I guess that's what happens when you get rich... you F it up for everyone else

Some bands are way better acoustic like Staind, Nirvana, Green Day but they don't get it and plus Aaron Lewis is now a washed up fat man and Kurt's dead and Billie and the gang are basically on there last leg music wise because they're getting really old.

Not too into staind, although people in my family are friends with them. I tend not to speak of the Kurt Cobain tragedy

As for Green Day, I cant see a day when they stop being good, theyve had some rocky songas and albums, but all good in the long run. Old? Maybe... but sometimes old isnt bad... and in their case, old is DEFINITLY not bad.

I'm pissed off a little at my city because they don't sell the cd's, dvds and and stuff that i want, even the internet which has it all wants credit cards and I don't have one so I hate this crap.

But seriously Green Day has gotten worse not that that's a bad thing they are still good and one of my top 10's but there earlier stuff is high and above the new stuff... Still maintaining the same level of greatness in my books but just saying.

Whatever way you look at it we both like the band so that's better than one of us hating them, these types of bands deserve the fame and glory.

I listen to Rise Against and they are one of my fav. bands. Hardcore music is my life and its all i listen to. If you like them you also might wanna check out

1) Avenged Sevenfold
2) It Dies Today
3) Underoath

Oh and Green Day sucks. Before Dookie (the mainstream album) they had 2 other albums and they were GREAT!!! Damn mtv and the mainstream listeners for taking that away.

Every band wants to go mainstream, if you are a sell out for taking a deal to let your music be distributed to a larger audience than every solo and band act is a sell out... Green Day has always been the same, now NOFX are sell outs because they now sing poppy fruit songs if you don't believe me listen to the song Anarchy Camp. At least Green Day kept there sound and there band in tact.

Green Day did not keep their sound. Their sound was much better before Dookie and i wish it was still like that.

Yeah, there's kind of a cycle to rock bands.

Release a demo from your garage.
Gain a cult following.
Release a record that does considerably well on the charts.
Get rich.
Make artistically lacking studio album.
Gain mainstream fans.
Sellout with a stream of remakes and studio albums.
Be the "artist of the week"
Get replaced by a newer band.

And the cycle continuous.

Didn't they rerelaease some of their older albums before dookie? I believe they did, to me there are a couple albums that sound like they changed but who doesn't change over many years?

Pop stars start out as happy go lucky good girls and turn into sluts, it's natural progression when you can't sing anymore and start to lose popularity. Green Day has more fans now than ever.

None of my fave bands have changed there sound in a long time which is good because they have the same awesome voice instead of it changing like some bands do, Green Day was my fave about 6 years ago but they've since been bumped down to top 20 maybe.

thats a common mistake, Dookie was indeed their first CD released... then they released 2 (or 3, cant remember) CDs that had old demo's the band themeselves didnt want on Dookie... there was never any green day BEFORE Dookie.

I dont care what people say about 'mainstream' ... if its mainstream and i like it, i listen to it. I dont care if its mainstream, indy, underground, whatever. if i like it i listen to it, and i dislike arguing about music.
because no matter what anyone says, there will always be someone with a different opinion and theres no point to arguing about it.

Andrew Roby, you say hardcore is your life, do you like Glassjaw? theyre my favorite band and they've never gone mainstream or anything(except for the GREATEST vocalist, Daryl Palumbo, who sings for glassjaw, he formed another band called Head Automatica, that I love alot too)... they rule and always will.
