I'm just wondering what everyone's listening to lately, and if it's any good?

Me at the moment - when I'm not writing (another thread) I'e been listening to...

Coldplay - X & Y.

This album's a bit of a disappointment really. I'm hoping it'll be a 'grower' as, at the moment, a couple of songs aside, it's doing nothing for me. There's nothing  on there that's immediately grabbed me the same way that the majority of tracks did on Parachutes and Rush of Blood...

Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes

I bought this one years ago for 'Add it Up' and it's pretty much sat on my shelf since then. Listened to it a few weeks ago and it's not been out of my player since. Currently my fave album!

Well in my player it's a mix.

I bought the new Bif Naked album SuperBeautifulMonster on the first day of release for 9 bucks. It's a solid album and it's what you'd expect from her, Bif sings songs for women mostly but I love the music nonetheless...

Bizarre's Hanni Cap Circus (Also 9 bucks on first day of release) - Yeah, you must be thinking what is that and I'll tell you... He's a member of Eminem's band D12, the fat one who raps weird stuff. This album is weak but it does have some songs that are good if you're into that genre of music it'll be something to get.

Also I'm listening to Massari, MC Lars and The White Stripes. The White Stripes have kind of panned out to be one album wonders in my books but I still like them.

CD's just aren't worth it anymore unless they're under 15 bucks.

I like listening to different internet radio stations at http://www.live365.com

They've got some that play good ambiant tunes.  They've also got a lot of good ones for classic radio dramas. There's also a station that plays only music recorded by the Muppets.  And they've got a station that plays only music from video games.  There are also some good stations there for listening to stand-up comedy.  That site has a lot of good listening material for all moods.

I'm all into Coldplay.  I love Speed of Sound, I play it while I write.

The album opener ('Square One,' I think) is probably the only one I can even come close to saying I love at the mo'

I'll give the rest enough chances though...

Yeah, we use pounds over here...

I usually only buy my cds in sales or online. So usually pay about £8/9... If you go to HMV and just buy an album off-the-shelf then you could be paying anywhere from £12-16... Crazy I tell ya... And the British Phonographic Industry (I think they're called) are going nuts over piracy but seem to think albums are decently priced!?!

I often tend to sneak in the Best of Bond album which has the opening songs and music from the Bond movies through The World is Not Enough. I like 007. My cell phone rings the James Bond theme. I have Fleming's novels, and have even drunk a Vesper which is a drink containing 3 parts Gin, 1 part Vodka, and 1/2 part Lillet....shaken, not stirred. It came from the book, Casino Royale. No aftertaste and one hell of a kick. Geez, it's late over here...

I'm trying to listen to X & Y but it isn't so good... Cold play is just a hit & miss group with me... they try too hard, ya know??

While I like FIX YOU and SPEED OF SOUND the rest of the album is a wash out to me... it was a very ho hum album and U2's VERTIGO was worlds beyond this one.

I'm looking for MATTHEW GOOD's new album and also FLICKERSTICKS new one as well as the FALLOUT BOYS stuff... other than that... new music, good new music, is a rare coin best found on e-bay... in other words... not too much good can come of it.

I used to love fall out boy.
Until they made the horrible MTV album.
So now every little teenager knows who they are.

Balt. check out fall out boy's old album, take this to your grave.
it is when they made music how they wanted to make it.
and it is a great album.

Hey, isn't Fall Out Boy Radioactive Man's sidekick from the comic book in the Simpson's? If you ask what's in my DVD player, the Simpson's sometimes kicks old Bond right out of that.

Most bands go commercial when they need money, a sellout is only a smart business man. Sure a lot of people will hate them but at least they make a lot of money before they're finished.

In life what's better than cash when you're young and starving?

Rob Thomas's Something to Be and I'm a BIG Matchbox Twenty fan too.
Michael Buble's new CD which is something to relax to.
Coldplay - Rush of Blood to the Head (haven't heard X&Y yet)
sometimes if I'm in a calm mood I take out my movie soundtracks like The Village and Meet Joe Black - great soundtracks there
Also, I'm a Linkin Park fan so I take out the Meteora CD once in a while too. I have a wide variety of CDs in my collection.

Yeah, I've got that - it's pretty good...

I'm listening to Jem's 'Finally Woken' and it's ok... Some good tracks and a couple of stinkers...
