Holy hell in a hand basket.

I have officially found a soundtrack that is so creepy, so unnerving, and so just plain good that it should be illegal.

Mixing the electronic elements and sporadic guitar familiar to Goblin, they add in an interesting element not often seen: screams and moans. You heard me, there are tracks where agonized screams are mixed into the music. Not as a sound effect, but as an actual part of the music.

The first time I watched the movie I couldn't help but wonder where the moans were coming from half the time. Then I listened to the soundtrack (it came with the limited edition 3-disc of Suspiria, which is an excellent DVD release by the way) and heard them in there as well.

And good Lord, I'd be lying if I didn't say my skin didn't crawl a little. Loud, unexpected bangs, constant percussion, moans, screams, bells, whistles, this score has it all.

They don't make them like they used to. Suspiria is easily one of the BEST scores ever made, EVER.

I challenge you to find a score more effective.

**** out of ****
If I could I'd give it a higher rating.

I couldnt agree with you more, I only got this myself recently and boy, was I surprised how creepy it sounded when played loud as hell.

The film itself is great but the soundtrack definitly helps with the atmosphere.
Easily one of the best horror scores, compltly agree.

It's brilliant, always thought so... Glad to see others feel the same about this movie and it's musical score.

As sad as it is, though, we are subject to a mother fuckin' remake of this too. I can only imagine how Hollywoof is gonna completly miss the mark on this one... LOL! I can only imagine... This movie is so far beyond anything Hollywood can muster up, it's apauling to think they are even gonna try.

Oh well, after they've tarnished every good, low end, horror movie with their classic shit touch and "trendy teen bop" cast... Maybe we'll be able to forget about the real horrors ... not the ones from the actual movies, but the ones that are the remakes themselves.

LEave my horror alone... wanna remake something and fuck it all up? Go remake like... Fried Green Tomatto's or like Steel Magnolia's or Driving Miss Daisy...

The Goblin (R.I.P.) did some fantastic stuff when they were around and Suspiria is by far their best work IMO. Their other stuff was a bit more techno sounding. I got the entire soundtrack on CD with the Suspiria 3-disc collection.

And for the record, I don't think the Suspiria remake is happening any time soon. It's been in development hell for some time now. It's the Evil Dead remake everyone has too worry about; I'm really concerned about the abundance of Ashton Kutcher rumors surrounding that one.
