For anyone out there who likes Queen and/or Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company, The Firm), they have just released a double live CD entitled "Return Of The Champions". Filmed/Recorded May 9th 2005 (2 days before I saw them..Damn!).

Although Paul is no Freddie Mercury, there are some outstanding numbers in this set:

Fat Bottomed Girls
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Hammer To Fall
I'm In Love With My Car
Another One Bites The Dust
We Will Rock You
We Are The Champions

Paul does a duet with a videod Freddie for Bohemian Rhapsody. It does'nt pay off as well on CD as it did live at the concert, but is still worth it.

Surprisingly, most of the highlights come from non-Queen songs:

Wishing Well
Feel Like Makin' Love
Can't Get Enough
All Right Now

These are the songs Paul brought to the set and he is definitely more comfortable singing these...and they are GREAT! Some fantastic guitar solos.

Finally, Brian May's signature guitar solos are present and his solo song Last Horizon is beautiful. Brian can make an orchestra sign from his guitar strings. Let There Be Drums is the drum solo for the night by Roger Taylor. Although older now, he can still bang away on the skins on this cover song.

Welcome back Queen!

**** out of *****
