When i ask this question i don't mean solo musicians only, but also those who belong to a band.

For me, I'm enjoying Steve Winwood.

Matthew Bellamy from Muse.

I cannot seem to find anyone with more talent... in my opinion of course.

Johnny Cash

His daughter, Rosanne Cash, was on NPR the other day - playing a few songs off her Black Cadillac CD. Sounded great.

Favorite musician: Cobain

I know I already said one but I've just recently gotten into David Bowie. He's amazing. I was gonna start a new thread in here about his music but, nevermind, Hunky Dory is the best album, one of the best ever, and Space Oddity is great also. Anyone who hasn't properly heard Bowie, should do so. He might look kinda weird, but his music's awesome. And so is his acting (The Prestige). Good.

I like most of Bowie's music. There are a few songs that are a bit... bad. Hunky Dory's my fav album too.

David Bowie would be in my top 10.

Wow! I'm really surprised. I mean with all the younger people on here, and it's all the older musicians that are mentioned.

Anyway, my all time favorite (forever and always) is Mick Jagger. I like the way his lyrics grab into my soul.

It's always been a dream of mine to be up on stage with him.

Any of you know who Jon Foreman is?

From my all time favorite band, the singer of Switchfoot.

And Johnny Cash...

I don't know about anyone else or how they got into the older sort of music like Bowie, but I got into that stuff from films. Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic and so on) usually picks British music from the 60's and 70's (as quoted from the IMDb). I guess I thank him for getting me into The Beatles and David Bowie. If it weren't for him I wouldn't be listening to them today. I may even try some Rolling Stones too.

Bowie is awesome.  Ever hear the song "I'm afraid of Americans" he did with Trent Reznor, that song rocks

No i haven't. I only own his greatest hits and Hunky Dory. I've given up downloading and started a album collection. Bowie's on the list!

Yep, music these days kind of sucks, so my dad "the muso" gave me a helping hand.

I'm still getting into the stones, i have a few of their albums but i'm more of a beatles fan. She's a Rainbow is a brilliant song though. And i understand why you'd want to be on stage with him. Watching their live gigs and Rock n Roll Circus i've learnt Jagger is a very energetic man, even today.

I like the Eels. I've got their new album, but i haven't listened to it yet. My favorite song from them is Flyswatter. As for John Linnell, I know all the words to Dr Worm, the best drinking song ever.
