Is there a song or a band, that whenever played, makes you envy the deaf?

For me its any band with a singer that sounds like the simple plan singer. That deliberately out of tone voice does nothing for me.

I hate hate hate that song "daughter", I believe it is by John Mayer.

It made me want to die everytime it came on the radio, which was alot, because it was overplayed.

Female metal singers who scream are awesome because you know... better not go there. Just listen to recent albums by Arch Enemy or even Tapping The Vein because not all female metal singers are bad or screamers for that matter.

I hate every pop song ever made, even the good ones.

When did MTV start playing music again? Even MTV Canada is just talking 24/7 now.

pop, rap, r&b, basically anything that requires absolutely no musical talent whatsoever. They don't even have to play any instruments, or write coherent lyrics.

"power punk" bands also suck, and most emo.

country I don't get either, besides johnny cash.

"Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd" - George Carlin
"I have to sign before you shoot me?" - Navin Johnson
"It'll take time to restore chaos" - George W. Bush
"Harry, I love you!" - Ben Affleck
"What are you looking at, sugar t*ts?" - The man without a face
"Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death." - Exodus 31:15
"No one ever expects The Spanish Inquisition!" - The Spanish Inquisition
"Matt Damon" - Matt Damon

Evanescence - get over your past you stupid whore.  All of her songs are bashing the dude from a relationship.  If she's this obsessive now imagine how bad she was in the relationship.  Just shut up already.

Loud mouthed 20-somethings sounding like they're going through puberty who sing about how they love their girlfriends and how they'll kill themselves if they're alone again.  This isn't music, this is just bullcrap.

Any song that fits into the above categories sucks.

I must disagree with you sryknows. Don't take this personally or anything, but I just disagree.

Sure, at least 80% of rappers always rap about the bling, riches, cars, women, booze, and how hard their life was when they were young. There is however, a majority of rappers who have inspirational lyrics.

For instance, listen to Talib Kweli, Mos Def, or Common. All three are kind of political, but they flow so well. They're geniuses. Rappers like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg were good in their day.

Most rappers follow the trend of making their songs all about the same thing. The biggest mistake was when they created some guy named 50 Cent.

Just my two cents.

Go Read Vibration in the shorts section... I'll return the favor...

I know what you're saying. I definitely give mos def and rappers like him more credit than shitty ones like 50 cent. I liked def poetry jam a lot too. Mos def hosted that. And I can tolerate Run DMC and the beastie boys, and give NWA credit for starting what they did. Gangster rap back when it started was more about raising awareness about what was going on in their communities, now it's just ignorant trite bullshit and just glorifies gangs and money and drugs and violence. Aside from that, it's just annoying. rap to me feels like someone's beating me over the head with a hammer with the same beat through the whole song. Pop and r&b are annoying in the same way. And while rap was innovative back in the day, now it's just kinda pathetic since anyone can do it. talking really fast to a drum machine is no substitute for actually creating a song, that means something, with actual musical instruments, so I just can't get into it if I don't respect their musicianship.

More specifically however...I'm pretty sure Ashley Simpson is the Anti-Christ, I hope Paris Hilton gets Cancer, Avril Leveign can die cold and alone, and Celine Dion too makes me want to jump headfirst out of a 12 story building. I also hate shitty actresses who make shitty music. ie J-Lo, Hilary Duff, and Lindsey Lohan.

Some of these top 40 songs in the US are truly a mystery as to how they were "voted" by the public.  I just hate those song of the week type songs that are usually on for like 2 weeks non stop.

A few examples:

That chick from the Black Eyed Peas has some single about London Bridge even though she is from California.  I now know why she is just the back up singer that just says 'Ohh!" in the background of the group's songs.  She really sucks.  I'm not kidding.

Ashley Simpson is kind of funny to listen to.  Gives me hope that ANYONE can be famous though so maybe I can get to Hollywood too.

Any song with that fag Pharell.  He needs to stay behind the scenes and just produce because he sounds gay as hell when he sings.

That John Mayer song "Daughter" is def up there as one of the worst songs ever.  Oh man, I second Higg on that.  Wow is he wasted air time.

Shakira is pretty annoying because she doesn't know how to translate her Lebonese and Spanish lyrics into English.  My hips don't lie??????

And for the worst song ever, I recommend you all to listen to "Gallery" by Mario Valezques ore whatever the hell it is.  He has a line in there that just makes me laugh everytime I hear it.  "He has so much ice, his neck and wrist froze.  Don't be just another dime"  Is that even English?

The stuff that gets to me is stuff like Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab For Cutie, and, most recently, Panic! At The Disco. These are bands that dress like dorks, in a lame attempt to make uncool cool, and play music that, while not exactly horrible, is painfully mediocre, with lyrics and themes that make about as much sense as their names do. And yet, people eat it up. I doubt many even understand the stuff, much like the bands themselves probably don't. That's the stuff that truly boggles my mind.

I can't presently stand James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". I feel the same way than Theboywhocouldfly with Céline Dion.

Most music since MTV's birth has made me want to jam cotton in my ears and set my head on fire.  Thanks to music videos, you don't have to sound good.  You just have to look good.
