I was listening to this soundtrack today and when I looked at YouTube found they had the entire animation there. This is 'The Point' from the 1970s.  The version I have had Dustin Hoffman as the voice of the father so this one sounds a bit weird to me because he isn't the father's voice in this one. But the father in this one is Ringo Starr and that's pretty good too.

Anyway, I recommend watching the whole thing if you get a chance. It's a little slow to start and the animation seems a bit crude but it's well worth the watch.  It's got some great songs later and a cute imaginative storyline.   It definitely wasn't one of my favourites the first time I watched it but it's really grown on me and it's one of my favourites now.

Cornetto, The Point was one of my favs too. "The whole point to the Pointless Forest is that there is no point" still sticks in my head. I haven't watched it since it originally aired on TV. I'll check it out on YouTube.

Quoted from michel

In this thing we're in called "Earth Time" we see things in the perception of unwholeness and incompleteness - the necessary "hard part" in growing.

The truth is, that everything already exists in its perfect form; we just don't see it yet. Kind of like when you head on a trip somewhere you've never been before. It still exists, only you've never seen it before.

Thanks for the video. And Michael... I'm downloading The Point. I do remember it, but it was sooooo LONG ago. Wow.

I once had a Madonna song in my head for about five days.  And I really hate Madonna.  I actually got drunk at one point in hopes of drowning the song.

Didn't work.

What I finally did was play CCR's Fortunate Son five or six times straight.  That did the trick.

I love Madonna.  Old Madonna though.  Before she got socially consious and preachy.

I once had the horn part from Otis Redding's "Huckle buck" in my head for two years.  There was a lot of weed involved though.

I may sounds like an old hat but there the three songs I currently keep listening:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSG4Cml7HXs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAeuR54DDts

and finally, the most beautiful piece of classic ever written (IMO). If you don't know Erik Satie (1866-1925) yet, you don't know what you're missing.
