Oh No! Jwent6688 is injecting insight again.  Jwent - don't you know that injecting things is bad for  you!

No,

I've been injected into.

And it was a Blessed experience.

But I love... (omitting because I feel I might be over the line) ...

I am still a bit puzzled by the deleted script. Sorry. But - he was deleted because he didn't comment on other scripts? Is that right?

It's just that a) isn't the OWC anonymous, so how would you know whether he did or not and b) as far as I am aware, there's no actual written requirement to comment on other scripts, is there?

Maybe I am just being obtuse - but it seems a strange reason to remove someone's script so I assume that there was more to it than that?

Because, as Bert had mentioned:

The writer contributed ZERO!

This needs a little clarification.  The so-called "leech" problem is MY beef, not Don's.

Don is a nice guy.  Much nicer than I am.

The only reason Don would have pulled down a script is because the author requested that he do so.

Yeah it was deleted for that reason. Why should someone post their work and get people giving up their time to comment on it if they are not going to return the favour? It is anonymous to us when we read the script but all the names of the writers are included when the script is submitted to Don, so easy to see who is active and who isn't.

A lot of people post their work on the boards and don't even bother to participate in their own threads. It is annoying when you consider that it means other people who are participating are missing out on reads because of these parasites. If deleting their scripts will deter others from doing the same then I think it is a good move.

Cheers,
Tim.

Yeah it was deleted for that reason.

Sigh...no it wasn't.  Please refer to my previous post.

As for the rest of Trojan's post, I do not really disagree with any of that.

But it is important to note that the first sentence is wrong.

Don does not do that.

Ok sorry Bert, my mistake. I originally read it and saw something like the script was taken down due to inactivity. It certainly sounded like it was taken down because the writer was leeching, which would have been fair enough I think.

Thanks Bert, that makes things a little clearer. The author requested it's removal - that's fair enough.

I would say that if I entered something like the OWC, I'd stick with it, but maybe he couldn't take comments if they were not complimentary? (I think someone says above that it wasn't very good?). Which is a pity really - it is probably better to take the criticism and reply (if and when you can) than remove your script because you don't like it.

Of course, these are assumptions on my part - he may simply have decided it wasn't good enough himself and asked for it to be taken down. Writers often lack self confidence - I know I do - and question whether their work is any good, unfortunately.

It makes me wish I'd read it myself to see before it disappeared!

Well, it's the evening of the 6th here, scripts have been up for about a week, reviews seem to be winding down...can we start revealing who wrote what? As in, anyone fancy sticking their head above the parapet and owning up to which is theirs?

Notice how I'm waiting for someone else to go first...

Here's a clue on which one I wrote...

Most people not only didn't like it, they hated it!  It angered some and upset others.
