Ugh, grogg in Swedish is any cheap vodka or aquavit mixed with anything, soda or juice, to help it go down. I'm currently having a few hard seltzers. Not because they are my favorites, I prefer beer, but I need to shed 5lbs of pandemic weight, so staying away from carbs.
My boys are all in their teens and we have what amounts to a gym in our house. This has also meant that I have been working out with them. I lost my middle-age pot belly and am looking at getting a 6-pack. I'm pumped. We work out every day for two hours. My body has never looked better -- this has gone down very well with my gf.
The prices of weight plates and other gym equipment have skyrocketed. So, it seems there are two types of people during this pandemic, those who work out and get fit, and those who drink and pig out in front of the TV.
Pia, my GF does a core exercise called The Plank. You can even download free apps. Shedding 5lb should be no problem if you get into that.

Two hours a day! That's impressive! I only do 30 minutes. It get harder to lose weight the older you get though, so being already fit when you enter "old age" helps a lot.
I didn't sit home and eat in front of the TV. I worked a LOT on things at home. I probably watch less TV than most. I just cooked more Swedish food and that's what got me. Yummy though. I won't have a problem getting rid of 5lbs, I'm just not going to go on a diet or anything. Just changing a few things around. That way it'll happen, but it won't feel restrictive.
With 3-4 of us over two hours it equates to about 30-minutes each so not as hardcore as it sounds and we rest weekends alternating muscle groups during the week. Definitely, something all of us should consider here. It's not a guarantee that it'll help us live longer but better diet choices and exercise become all the more important the older we get. Glad to hear you're on it, Pia.
The price of gym equipment is through the roof at the moment. Lots of cheap stock bought up and being sold for double the value on eBay etc. Seems to be happening with a lot of stuff, I've noticed. Strange things like Graphics Cards are in short supply too. Seems to be an International thing, otherwise, I'd have blamed Brexit.
My husband is a health nut, so it rubs off on me too, but I'm not as good at it as him, but at least I'm aware when I do something I would be better off not doing. On vacation a few years back I sat next to a woman who coughed constantly for one hour. She gave me that cough. I never got sick, just coughed, but it lasted for two months! If I don't count that, since I wasn't sick, I haven't been sick one single day in 16 years! No cold, flu, or anything. Knock on wood.
About the exercise equipment, I've heard similar things here. I finished the tiki bar and grill area, my pandemic projects, and thought maybe I should get a hot tub since we can't go anywhere. Same thing! 40-week delivery wait!!! No thanks!
