First: Thanks to Pia and Michael for the excellent suggestion for an OWC.
Second: Thank you to everyone who took the challenge. A week is not a long time and there were some good scripts and despite what some might think, I could tell that everyone took the challenge seriously.
Third: The Writer's Choices were (in no particular order)

Well, I'll be damned. Shoulda known Ray wrote The Tool of Morality. Somehow it all fits. And shockingly it turns out I had nothing to do with Cowboy Sam.
I only had Wednesday afternoon to write ...and after I wrote one...I couldn't help myself and so I wrote another one. Kayla is the vampire in the pic to the left (my avatar)....my daughter.
If it messed the contest up, I will gladly bow out. I voted for Jeff's script though. I didn't vote for myself.

The one you put your own name on is the one in the top three. Even if it wasn't the first one you entered (I'm assuming it was), I'd still call it valid. It's a friendly competition. Unless Kayla was actually the ghostwriter, then you should be ashamed of yourself and we should pummel you with pumpkins. Small ones.
I just write like the wind. When I get started I cannot stop ...it's like a drug consuming my mind...my fingers...I don't even know what I'm typing and when it's all over...it's like an ultimate climax...and I sleep very well.

Punkins!!! I love punkins!!! Nah...my daughter doesn't write at all ...but she's digital on those computer games! LOL

It is all good. If you can slip a second one by me, without me catching it, then it is a legit script.
I'm very surprised so few have chimed in and/or taken credit for their work.
Looks like only a few provided ZERO reads, and we know who you are, so..get on it, damnit!
It only make sense to jump in and say a few words about your entry. Peeps actually do want to know what you have to say and we are interested.
On a different note, it always does surprise me how many peeps want to immediate do a rewrite and re-post. In all seriousness (damn, that's twice I've said that), step back and take it all in before you worry about rewriting this or anything.
And when you do, lose the strict parameters that brought many an entry down. Write it how you want to and don't worry about each and every requirement.
OWC's are great tools to learn how to write under the gun on subjects that may not thrill you.
I know I was harsh at times, and I apologize if anyone's feelings were seriously hurt. Not my aim in any way. Everyone who entered deserves a big pat on the back, and for the ladies, that could be a pat on the bum...
If it's an effective method of interrogation for you you're darned right I'm putting it up.
Other than that, good job on cracking the top three. Did I read you yet? No? Aw, shucks.
(I will though. When I'm sober stone cold drunk)
I was kidding, Darren.
Don't break your streak now, bro. I don't need any reads from you. Keep your total at zero. I like when peeps owe me something, and you, my friend, owe me about 14 or 15 reads.
Funny thing is, reading your review, I think you've warmed up to it over time. Just a funny thing I noticed when I replied to Pia and Dan.
I think I was fairly positive about it, wasn't I? Easily in the top 7 or 8 for me.
But peeps seemed to love it, so I assumed it would be a finalist.
Sean, as I've told you, I think you're a good writer and I wish more had, or will read your Christmas Story script. It has lots going for it, and you know I rarely say that.
This contest taught me humility. I thought I'd crank out some magical, enchanted PDF and use all my prowess to make this amazing. Then, I got "Room 3" and it angered some (Ray) and confused the rest. Part ofme thinks its hilarious that it was that bad and part of me is sad that it didn't do better.
I liked this assignment because I really didn't like the premise, but that was the challenge. And making sure all the requirements got in there was a chore too. I couldn't even do that right. But it was SUPER nice to write something and turn it in. Sense of accomplishment: achieved. In the end, I'm not sure if I'll rewrite or just relish The experience and move on.
"I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember The Road Warrior. The man we called 'Max'."
Who is in your consideration? It fucking better be Cowboy Sam!!
And to all who didn't believe me about not writing Cowboy Sam, what do you have to say now? Huh? HUH?
Leon, you rock, bro!!! Amazing effort and I do actually really mean that. Your script will live on forever, at least for me.
I was pretty sure Ryan had actually written it. Then, I thought maybe Led had thrown it together on a bender Friday night.
I was positive that Jeff had written it, just given the nature of the script. Oops. Haven't seen Leon on these boards in awhile, so I hope he took the comments on Cowboy Sam in stride. When I thought Jeff wrote it, I was sure it was a pizzer. Now I'm not so sure.
Congrats to the chosen scripts. I chose the Light under room 12.
Also, I apologize to all the Guns "N roses fans that I offended as I know realized after the fact. Welcome to Jungle was blasting on a friday night when I got to that point and should have realized singer does not equal guitarist.
Didn't have an ending in mind and I think it showed as people commented on how I didn't have a clear ending. It was definitely fun to write the superheroes as I didn't have to create names/backgrounds and could just rip off their banter.
Thanks for comments and let me know if I missed other entries and want me to quickly review.
Congrats to all. Will see if I can read the entries soon.

Just Murdered by Sean Elwood (Zombie Sean) and Gabriel Moronta (Mr. Ripley) - (Dark Comedy, Horror) All is fair in love and war. A hopeless romantic gay man resorts to bloodshed to win the coveted position of Bridesmaid. 99 pages. https://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-comedy/m-1624410571/
Please note that any quotes attributed to stevie are in fact the wishes, dreams and wild fantasies of Jeff Bush. This is clearly evident in the recent OWC in which he pretended his script was written by me, with vague Beatles refs and supplanted PDF names. Perhaps his plan backfired and his script got a shitload of votes because the SS crew thought I had written it...lol
He WANTS to be me...but he can never BE me.
For a start he wouldn't look good in my denim cutoffs...
Actually, I should send you a pic of me wearing my old tiger striped spandex - OMG, those were the days. To think that not only did I go out in public wearing those, I made a conscious decision to wear them, because I knew the chicks dug me in them.
When we all go to Pia's premier....Stevie's gotta wear his short jeans and Jeff has to wear his spandex haha
Two shows in one!
Part of me wouldn't fit in those beautiful Spandex!!!!
I've got to find a picture...absolutely hilarious. Of course, to make the outfit complete, I usually wore a wig as well. Unreal...what was going through my peebrain? I did look pretty fucking cool, though!

Congrats to Rene and Dena, great to see both my number one and two scripts there although I did vote for "The Ledger" at the end of it all which I think has lots of potential.
How Jeff's script got in there over "Skiptrace" or a "A Light in Room Twelve" is beyond me? Must have been a sympathy vote.
Of course I'm kidding...good on you, Jeff for making the top three.
And well done to everybody who threw out a script on what was a difficult challenge for sure.
I do not envy Pia and Michael on this one. It seems like a difficult task to bring all this together for a feature. Good luck to you both and I wish you all the best.
Congratulations, in no particular order to Dena, Jeff, and Rene. And a personal nod of appreciation to David M Troop, dtroop506. Nice writing, people. Very nicely well done.
Technically, Ray might feel a little used. Afterall, he has already done all your pre-production work for you.
This is a neat idea, though, Pia and Michael.
No. I don't feel used in the least little bit. I ran through my own evaluation process to maintain context throughout the challenge to give my own grades for the purpose given: To produce a low budget + one location short. I didn't select the prettiest literature in screenplay format, a personal pet peeve of mine regarding how what seems like many votes were cast for this go round. Is that how you vote for government positions? The candidate "whose personality you like the most" and with no regard to the economy and social issues? Loathesome.
Honestly, I believe this gang-bang approach should be employed more often and consciously. Pia & Michael have PLENTY of work cut out for them. What I did was just provide a single faux-producer's cursory analysis. When Pia gets the time to toss up her estimated production cost breakdown you guys will develop an even better idea of how someone who's paying for something views things differently than someone just making sh!t up outta their heads.
Big reveal time here! Here is the reason for the October 2012 OWC and it is also the reason why I could not submit my entry.
A while ago, on a Friday night, I was chatting with Michael Cornetto on Skype. As usual, like a good friend, he sat through and listened to my drunken ramblings and I don't remember exactly how this came about, but that is when we came up with this idea. I had just finished shooting TTD and I swore that I would never shoot another film again. mostly because I really hate the production part of it. especially pre-production. we came up with this idea, that maybe we could coproduce a film. Michael would do most of the stuff that I hate and I would shoot the film here in Florida. We came up with the idea of asking people from SS to write short stories that we would weave together into a feature. Then we came up with the idea of doing it in a rundown motel. after having some issues with the difficult locations I had chosen for TTD, I wanted it to be in a contained area where I could have better control over the environment. especially sound and lighting. since I am also funding this myself, it had to be rather low budget. We asked Don what he thought and he thought it was a great idea. So, there you have it.
Brilliant. I wish every OWC had this pragmatic approach to it.
Best of luck weaving some of these together. They're all over the place. Maybe the V/H/S film could serve as some sort of laticework for quilting a few of these together. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2105044/
I look forward to the product... whenever it's hot off the DVD press.
