As soon as I saw this topic I was reminded of the new Rob Zombie flick, the Lords of Salem and I wondered if that was any inspiration for the topic. I haven't seen the movie though .
Don't bother.
Just read the wiki page and save yourself the time.

Well, I was planning on returning to novels, but witches and warlocks seems to be right up my alley. Fantasy Horror, 10 pages... I'm sure I can spend a little time on a 10 page short for this OWC, time to break out the old Amigranthas.

I'll see if anything pops into my head for this but I do hate horror these days, the movies they come out with are so dull and repetative.
All the more reason to write a kickass horror short for the OWC!

So I'm a bit confused, and hopefully I don't make myself look like an idiot. Are the scripts posted anonymously and that's why we don't put our names on the script?
A bad writer, trying to become decent... Thank you for all who put up with my work and try and help me improve. Practice will hopefully pay off for my writing.

That's correct!
But you tell Don when submitting it. he keeps track of who wrote what.
They are usually posted with fake name attached.
Then once read and reviewed by SS'ers a vote is taken as to the best of the stories.
Then the names are revealed.
It's fairer if you don't know who wrote what when reviewing.

I agree with you. I was hoping that might be the case when asking the question. Although I feel it doesn't matter as I don't believe I have much of a chance at this anyways but I already started my script and am having fun with it, although I can already tell ten pages will be tough! Lot's of tough editing to come.
Do we submit them with fake names, or does Don (hope I can refer to him at this) get the honor of doing so?

You can call him "The Don" also.
Make your own fake name or let The Don do it for you.
For instance, Shanw (Ledbetter) usually uses "Little Fairy Princess" for his fake name.

No, you submit them using your real name. Just don't put it on the script or anywhere in the story. As far as not having a chance, you'd be supprised. Alot of times, new writers get just the shot in the arm they need to go on and keep writing. And remember, I think it's 6-10 pages. It doesn't have to be 10. Many times writers will fill a short with so much fluff that it could be carved down to 6 and actually tell the story better. Best of luck in your writing. Shawn.....><

I meant keeping it only ten pages or under will be hard! But yes, fluff is an issue and that's what I meant by some tough editing to come!

Actually, it will be tough, as it's usually up to 12 pages. Keeping it under 10, for me, at least, will be tough. I'm in but I have absolutely no clue what I'll write about, other than witches and warlocks and Stevie's short shorts.

Come on guys, this is getting out of hand! I had decided last night after 11 hours of gaming that I wasn't gonna submit an entry as it wasn't gelling with me and I wanted to concentrate on my Marilyn feature.
But I had an idea and it's been kicking around my head and now I'm IN! I just gave the synopsis to my 10 year old daughter and she said 'Wow Daddy, that would make an awesome movie'! Lol
Good luck all!
