Anyone out there read or reading this book by Justin Cronin?  Great read so far...

My wife got it from the library and I've been reading it too. its due back in a few days but I can't renew it as its on hold being so popular! So I'll have to buy it or wait weeks to finsh it!

its set in a few years and is very evoactive of stephen king's 'The Stand'. i don't want to give away too much - and i haven't read enough to know the full plot - but it has a unique 'virus' that makes people into unstoppable killing machines, government coverups, strange dreams and portents, a little girl who holds the key to the world, etc.

The writing is very similair to King, in his character study. Even without all the mystery, you really feel for the people, be they FBI agents, deeath row criminals, nuns.

Its already been optioned to be a film, though it is a long book.

I'd like to know what anyone thinks of it and i highly recommmend it

Hey Stevie,

I loved The Passage, completely unputdownable. I also got it out of the library and luckily had time off work so I just read and read and read for a week - bliss!

I'm a big Stephen King fan and thought there were similarities with his style. It's pretty epic in scope and reminded me a lot of The Stand.

I also highly recommend it.
