The November (Feature) Challenge is over!* Please take some time to check out the Feature scripts of the challenge. Congratualtions to those who finished.
*It's not over. For those who didn't finish, you still have a great start on a script. Why not finish it?
Okay I have a little story to tell... Anyone here ever watch Toxic Avenger? Toxie 'Mark torgl' was in my short horror 'The Camper' one of 4 in the horror anthology 'The Macabre.' They extended the script and shot it in the Navada desert.. And if you like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Grandpa (John Dugan) was in the wrap around segment. They found the script on here.. Thanks Don!
I grew up in the 80's in New Zealand and would frequent the video stores and get my horrors, but not the slasher ones, I wasn't into gore. I would see the toxic avenger on the display rack staring at me and think, no way am I watching that. So I never did.. an low and behold I would have never thought that one day, that Melvin guy would be in a short horror I wrote.
Of course I never watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre either. But my two older brothers and their girlfriends (now wives) did on one dark evening in 1980. I was of course in my room, slightly annoyed I couldn't watch anything because they were hogging the T.V with this gory movie you couldn't pay me to watch. So I created my own horror. I stood by the closed folding door that cuts the living room off from the hallway and I waited for a quiet part in the movie. I grabbed the handle and pulled the door across as fast as I could and yelled at the top of my lungs. They all freaked out of course and my sister in law fell off the couch. it worked!! Being the young sister of two brothers I never won a fight, but this scare made up for it. So again I never thought the guy in the movie they were watching would be in a movie I had some part in....
So you never now what's around the corner. Keep writing I say... you just never know...
"Turn that off, our friend has just been killed in a fatal sunlight accident!"....
