It seems every time I'm on here there's this Yahoo! Bot logged in. I was wondering what that is. Is the FBI really spying on me? Or am I just slipping a little further into madness?

I was close to asking about that myself. I also noticed something called Archive.org. I didn't see either before the board change, any connection?

ETA - and now I see a Google Bot. Why the attention all of a sudden?

Well I know if you advertise with google, then once a day they send someone over to your site and check to make sure your not asking people to click the ads.  But I just don't know about Yahoo! Bot

All,

Google Bot, Yahoo Bot, Archive.org are all automatic spiders that scan and index the the discussion board so that when users search on Google, Yahoo or Archive, content from the discussion board comes up.

Yeah, I assumed that was their function, but why now? I don't recall ever seeing them before the board change. Did I just overlook them?

This is part of the update to the discussion board functionality.   In the past, the spider bots were not identified.  Now they are.
