This is an idea, sort of like those daily drawings in an art forum.
Someone (in the art forum's case it's something, a thing programmed to give daily ideas) must give an idea for a short, and all of us, who wants to, writes a short about it, and at the end of the week we would have a lot of shorts.

This could be a good test for beginning writers, or even more advanced writers.
You get a mission, and you'll start producing screenplays on command, and have a deadline :p

Think about it, I'm sure I would attend it weekly ;p

i think thats quite appealing.  if you show the first initiative and get it started, i'd consider participating once in a while.

So like if someone said fruit Bowl we'd all write a short involving or about a fruit bowl? Or would it be something more difficult but along the same lines?

If so than I understand and think it's a good idea but it'll turn out like all the other group activities when nobody but 5 people participate

This is a cool idea. For Hollywood - The Game (A Hollywood online simulation game) they had a contest for short scripts but the entires had to have a glass coke bottle and a character named Joe Quick. This idea is along those lines.

don't make it TOO obscure and open ended though.  like saying 'write a script about Nature' or 'include a 70 year old character'........

Well that's what general chat is for or even the collaborative effort board, you most likely will not get a separate board just for this

You could have a general theme like; anger, jealousy, revenge, grief, death, etc..

I enjoy writing shorts and I'd love to get other's input, so I'd participate. Shorts do help to motivate me to write and often help me with projects I'm working on.

Another site that I've been a regular for over five years has writing challenges. Each person enters, critiques the others and vote for the best one voting on the three they think are the best. I can give you the details of how it's done if you like.

It just takes someone to get it started. How about the horny storm trooper sub admin guy, Wesley?
