What happened to my post in the "things that make you go ooooo" thread? Who deleted it, and why? Is this a public message board, or a members only board? Thanks in advance for clearing this up...
Did you say something really inappropriate? That's usually why posts get deleted, it's a public message board alright but there's a point where Don has to draw the line I'm thinking
If not maybe there was a glitch and your post didn't post, it happens
Okay Don, read em. Now riddle me this, why was my post deleted? I can see you getting rid of mine, but not whilst leaving the post in which I was responding. Delete them both, and we have a deal...leave his saying what it did, and deleting mine? Now that's a problem...
I've had one post deleted in my time here (not including entire topics that I had responded to that were deleted), and while I didn't completely understand why it was done, I know Don must have thought it was offensive or inappropriate in some way, and I trust his judgment. He has done a great job of keeping this board free from trolls and a major part of that is prevention. That means deleting inappropriate posts before they can do any harm.
You haven't been around here very long, RodeoClown, but in time you'll see that Don does not abuse his moderator status (even though he has every right to, he did create the board, y'know).
BTW - this is a public board and a members only board. If a member of the public chooses to become a member of the board he must agree to it's rules.
While I don't normally reply to these type of posts. Please do review the rules with extra note on staying on topic, not attacking another poster and not posting in caps. I do not and will not edit a poster's post. I make a value judgement and if the post violates a rule, I delete it. Also, when I delete a post as per the rules, I will not give you a reason. there are too many posts to track all the posts and reasons they are deleted.
As for what Reed Enwright said, yes, "this is a public board and a members only board. If a member of the public chooses to become a member of the board he must agree to it's rules. " Simple as that.
In short, I am very lax on editing the board. Oppositing views are welcome. Off topic, cap posts and one word reponses and senseless bumbing are removed.
and when it is removed, Don usually doesn't make a big deal over it either, except for repeat offenders or people who really cross the line where Don draws it.
I understand Don, and if it were my message board the exact same kind of rules would be in effect... It's just that I didn't have all caps, it was plenty more than a word, it was not babbling, and it was fairly on topic...I wouldn't have a problem if you took the other guy's response off as well (which was equally "off topic" as well) Then I would not say anything, cause I would know your intent...
