Sorry, but that Shawn of the Dead pop up AD is really annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It never leaves!!!!!!

Where are you seeing the pop up.  There should be no pop ups on the discussion board.  The only place that pops appear on the site should be the home page and maybe the movie page.

P.S., try downloading either Firefox Browser (which has a built in popup stopper) or you can download the Google Toolbar which I find very useful not only in stopping pops, but also it has the handy google search feature (that is, on those rare occations when I use IE) and there is also the SimplyScripts branded Alexa Toolbar

I get it every time I visit the message board - but I was at work and it did it every time I go to a new thread!! So frustrating -my home PC one isn't affected....thanks for the heads up on those links too!!

I think I know the problem.  The alternate ad on the discussion board is causing this problem.  I have swapped out the alternate ad.  You shouldn't get the pop up on the discussion board.

Yeah, yeah, yeah,  I get this thing too... I altered my Internet active x control settings and it got rid of it until I did a restart on my computer, now the damn thing is back and it's here to stay it seems, cause not even active x thing or google can stop it.  

This SOTD thing is a beast from a world unseen... it's like the monster in the ship we all know is there and it's waiting to pick us off one by one~  OH MY GOD, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!  

No, but seriously, this thing is really starting to make me mad... kinda like not even wanting to come here until after tuesday or wendsday, in hopes the release will make it go away

I got the Shawn of The dead pop up from other sites but not this one, maybe it's your internet server like say you use Rogers, Sympatico etc. Maybe different ones use different things or settings

I got an msn virus that always shows this buddy icon so I hear and if people on my msn click the link they get the virus, kinda funny. I kinda miss pop up ads, I used to complain about them and now I don't get any

As I mentioned before, I've removed the banner ad  from the discussion forum that was spawning the pop.  There are no pops on the discussion forum.  The only place that it appears is in the main index page.  

As for MSN viruses, please note that I scan each and every document that I receive before they are placed on the site.

Please bear in mind, that if you don't have virus protection software or ad blockers, you may receive from other sites active x pops.  There are none on this site.  

You all might want to look into ad-aware or other forms for protection from unwanted pops.  However, bear in mind these types of viruses and trojan horses do not come from this site.  

Please note, however that the advertisements and occasional pop-ups this site is what fuels the site.

I can supply links and stuff to adware and pop up blockers that are great, free pop up stoppers that actually work

If Don or anybody wants me to upload some and place links on here I could do that, free programs that in this internet world where nothing is free they are a shining star above many of the free programs that come with hidden spy ware and stuff

I spoke too soon, I still get that Shawn of the Dead pop up every time I change page!!! Don't worry Im not really moaning, I just find it a tad irritating...cos its never happened to me here before....will check out my browser settings though.

I've found the problem.  I removed the pop from the main theme, however I didn't remove the offending bit of code from the 'original' or 'mac' themes.  I'm guessing that you use one of these themes (either green or plain white) rather than the default silver theme.

Apologies for this.  And I've send an e-mail to my advertiser asking that I be notified in the future if any of their banner ads spawn pops.  

Please let me know if the problem has been cured.

I must also say thank you, Don.  The Shaun of the Dead thing was driving me a little bonkers as well.  I'm using the green theme so I don't know about the nifty silver theme, but yeah.  I had to bow out real quick last time I was here.

This was quite annoying.  I have no pop up code on the discussion board, however the advertiser created a banner that spawned the pop.  My advertiser did promise that in the future they would let me know if they did this.  

As for the various Themes, if you go to Member Center and under "Personal FOrum Preferences" select "Language and Theme"

In the drop down there are three themes:

Default Theme
Mac OS Theme
Old STyle

Mac OS Theme has a broken image problem which I hope to correct soon.

Please do let me know of other annoyances and I'll try to correct them to the best of my ability.   I am saving my pennies and dimes in hopes that next year I can revamp the unproduced section to give users the ability to upload and remove their own scripts and do rankings and sorting by best to worst and by screenwriter and genre.   Plus also be able to scan each document for viruses before uploading.
