As a new reader to this board, I was wondering what type of written material is allowed to be post as far as the scripts goes? For example: can your script contain explicit sex scenes if they were already in the script, or if they are in your script and you wanted to posted it here, can the author leave that section out when uploading the script.
The reason I am asking this is because I know that some people do not enjoy or care to read that type of material.

Thanks in advance for answering this question.

I think as long as it's not porn it doesn't matter, I believe sex scenes are aloud as long as it has to do with the story and moving the plot along... Lots of script have graphic violence and dirty language.

If you can show people's heads being chopped off I doubt a little bit of explicit sex would be dreadful, I think anyway.

I know porn is a no-no but where is the line anymore to be honest? I guess you'd just have to try it out and see.

Surely as long as you give warning as to the content of your script it would be ok... Then it would be the choice of the 'fairly warned' individual as to whether or not to read it.

If done right, it should be very loud!

The problem with including sex scenes is that too many writers here write them for either shock value or to live out some fantasy.  The ones I've seen were downright laughable.

And remember, "virgins shouldn't write erotica."

Thanks everybody for answering this questions for me.

I would never write any sex scenes for the value of shock. That would be out of place for a series like the one I have been writing.

Well, once again, thanks for answering this for me and easing my mind.

And the virgin thing...I totally agree to a certain point, but then again, they probably could write it better because they have never had the experience so they would be very creative with the scene.

"virgins shouldn't right erotica."

Unless they think something is wrong with it.

That's actually something an editor told me when I wrote for a men's magazine, years ago.  The readers can always tell.  Some of the sex scenes on this boards were obviously written by virgins.
