Hi Don,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to bring in spoiler tags to the board?

I've seen this facility on a number of boards and it really is really quite useful...

This way both a more general and an in-depth discussion of the same movie/script can go on in the same thread... I've stayed out of a few threads where there have been spoilers posted (but the posters here have been very considerate to warn of these )... If these tags were introduced and used people who have not seen/read the piece of work could enter threads about films/scripts knowing they can just get a general idea of the quality of a script/movie without being exposed to plot details that might otherwise hurt the viewing/reading experience...

If anybody is unaware of spoiler tags... You would essentially write...
Plot specific details go here.
And when this is posted a black box goes over the words between the tags which the reader then has to highlight to read.

Just a suggestion.

Cool, I've never used a board with that feature. It's a good idea for a board like SS, I think.

There's an example of what they look like here.

I've seen those on Gateworld where they just change the colors of the message so you have to highlight them to see what they said.

You could use strikeout for now just in case Don cannot add them because different boards have different features.

Or yellow, I know I wont read yellow writing because it hurts my eyes.

That Spoiler tag is kind of interesting. IT would be a nice feature if it could be implemented, but until then, we're stuck with SPOILER and a careful jog past unwanted information. I just get bummed by those who fail to use it. And unfortunately, those who fail to mention a spoiler are likely to be the same ones to not use the spoiler tag.

We'll just have to flog them with noodles when they mess up.

I'll stick to the way I do it now unless it's a major spoiler like revealing a major plot point, other than that I'll continue to use spoilers warnings.

Well if you tell people the certain spoilers you do not want revealed they can avoid that, it's easy just to discuss screenplays without adding spoilers.
