oh.  I think the new name is clever by the way, when i figured out who you were I started laughing.

I still think its a bit of a pain though, at first I thought you were a new member then I
saw ur post amount blah blah blah....

or when balt kept changing his, and wesley, and , I was going kind of crazy.

well, the holding over the name thing should help, thanks.

That would only raise confusion on my name, since I use a different login name than the one I am known by on here. I would change my name, you'd try the whole status bar trick and go, "Who the hell is tubkas?"

and it would take me like ten minutes to figure out that it is, in fact, george wilson.

This is why I think its annoying when people change their name.

So I shouldn't change my name to Senior Lewis Montariego Dawn Bob Jumping Toast?

Or would you know it was me?

Well, I dont think anyone in the world other than you would change their name to that, so, I guess you have my permission.

I started a thread in General Chat asking the same thing. I don't mind an occasional name change, but is it necessary to do it every month (or more)?

I've always had my name in every name I've got. Always. I don't know about people who change them all in all, but I've changed my name 2 times now and all of them have had BALTIS in them.

BALTIS (after my beautiful cat whom I love more than life its self)
I MADBALT (after a favorite horror movie of mine/ and my cats name)
SITLAB (my cat's name spelt backwards)

I don't see what's wrong with this. Also, it's like you don't know who the person is who changed their name. It's not like we're all in our Batman costume or we're putting on glasses to conceal our identity.

its not like I can see you.

and because of that, the name is important.

I wanted to change my screename to something new beyond just Wesley but for the sake of confusion I always leave Wesley in it.

Since it's a name that nobody else uses it's easy to always see that it's me.

I had the same name at the beginning for almost 2 years...

Wesley_Faelyn
Wesley And The Curse

That's all I can remember ever having on this site before recently. Yes it is odd when people change their names and all but you get over it.

I honestly had no clue George was Tubkas, a few other people as well who came back after a long time away with a new name as it were.

Not quite. I recall coming back to the board after a short absence and you were IMADMAN - no Balt there.

If everyone just put their real name in their sig, this wouldn't be an issue at all.

Yes, and that was for a day, maybe two... cause I realized that it might affect my new script I posted and the reads it would get.

So, yes, you are right... but please note I changed it very quickly.

Right, I didn't think Sitlab = Baltis, I recognized the avatar and sig first.
