This is going to be such a stupid question, but what do moderators and administrators do?

They remove inappropriate posts, move improperly placed threads and close threads that have turned ugly or become off-topic. That's the gist of it.

Oh, and I hear they kick puppies and push the elderly down stairs, but that may not be true.

I don't kick puppies, I prefer drowning them.

Too much?

I have that ability in some threads.  If someone clicks on the "report" button, I look at the situation and then I take an action to make someone happy.  But what I like to do is edit my threads at least once a month so that everything remains on topic.

Though you should know that we only have one Administrator and that's the Almighty Don. I used to be an admin... those were the days though I didn't have any power that moderators don'y accept I could edit posts on any board.

We're also responsible for keeping those boards up and running and not become useless, it's hard sometimes. I guess Don has the worst job as he has to moderate General Chat as well as most other boards like script genres in which mostly are the center of fighting.

I guess the rest of us are lucky ha-ha

Andy, if you're done travelling, we got plenty of dog stories from the last one week excercise.

i'm thoroughly surprised i still have my little collaborative section.  wow, a year and a half's existence!  thought i might have been denoted for neglect.  pleased to see people still using it, though.  i trust don has handled anything efficiently i have not.

true love waits... i guess.

Rob, the great mod of the poetry board, is plugging the poetry board right now.  Post your poems and make the world happy.  If you don't, the world will be sad.  You don't want the world to be sad, right?  Because if you sadden the world, men in black will come to your home and make you post a poem.

Your best feature is your heart and soul.
