Is Scriptbuddy a good program for writing scripts?

I can't stand it.  You can go to scriptbuddy.com and sign up and you can have a free trial of it.  They'll let you post your script on the site for reviews, but many of them will be pointless "hey this was cool!"

Be excellent to each other

Thanks Greg.

Does anyone have any suggestions for screenwriting software?

Final Draft is very popular.  I'm using v5 and I think they're up to v7, but I have no reason to upgrade.  I'm happy with what I have.

You could save a lot of money by buying an old version on ebay.

Scriptbuddy was cool at first until a friend of mine showed me this site and Scriptbuddy is poop compared to this website.

I remember someone saying (and this isn't the exact quote), "It took me about 3 hours just to write a script that would have taken me on 20 minutes on Microsoft Word." But yeah Scriptbuddy isn't cool anymore. I used to use it and now that I look back at it, it wasn't that great and I don't recommend you using it unless you absolutely HAVE to (though I can't find a reason why you would really, really need it).

But yeah I just use Microsoft Word.

As far as software, Phil's right. I use Final Draft 6 because I got it new, but now, I'll never upgrade...because there is no reason to. But really, like he said, just buy an old version and it'll work fine...at least a hundred times better than ScriptBuddy would. Half of the screenplays over there are Fanfic for video games, and half of the writers can't even format them good with a format software! Anyway, I'd rather buy a $500 software than be stuck with Scriptbuddy. It'll never get you anywhere...its not fast, and like Greg said, the reviews are stupid and come from people who can't write screenplays themselves!

Final Draft is good, but I've been using ScriptWare for 8 years now and I'm happy with it.  No need to change...yet.

I find it time consuming and utterly useless.
