iowa-on-demand.com has NO affiliation with simplyscripts.com.  Simplyscripts.com does not, in ANY way endorse or recommend their service.  Since they didn't contact me first, I'm going to assume that they are crooks and quite likely paderists.

You know, I can't believe this bull!!! I can't seem to find a legit Agent anywhere. Everytime I think I've found one, such as Iowa On-Demand, I find out I've been scammed again. Where are the legit Agents out there???

Getting an agent is not an easy task.  If it was, we'd all have one.

Keep in mind that agents receive dozens of letters/scripts/novels/manuscripts a day.  You have to compete against everyone else who's sent in work.  You have to make yourself stick out above the others in order for an agent to even look at you.

One way to get their attention is to enter some writing competitions.  After you've won an award or two, you can include this on you query letter.  It will make you stick out above the other guys.

How can someone assume that an Agency is a crook or fraud just because the Admin or Moderator of a script site never got a letter from them??? I'm not saying this isn't possible, but isn't it kinda judging an Agency? Perhaps they just don't do things the way other Agents are used to. Iowa On-Demand did edit my screenplay once posted here and I'm pretty sure they did a good job of it. Of course, I'm not the greatest judge of character when it comes to reading my edited writing.

You can always check references.  Usually, when you use a script doctor, you know what you're getting into.  You're paying them to edit your script.  They don't make promises of representation.

Agents shouldn't charge you for anything.

I understand. But my Agent from the Agency has said he was going to represent me. He asked 10% if he sells my script. He was also the one to recommend the edit.

Isn't this from The Screenplay Agency?  The same people we spoke about a few weeks ago?  Those guys are con artists.

No, this is about Iowa On-demand I'm talking about. I know they provide other services but they also had an Agent who is still working for me. After he recommended an Edit and Treatment be done on my script before he started shopping it.

I did a quick search of IOD and couldn't find anything outside its website.  No one has commented on it on Google, which makes me a little suspicious.  From what I can tell out their publishing division, they're a vanity press.  And they provide services for screenwriting like editing and copying.  I didn't see anything about representing.

You can (and should) ask who they've represented and what deals they've made in the past year.

So, they're not really scam artists? Just a Vanity Press that offers services to fix screenplays? Does this mean they can be trusted? I had them Edit my script already and they're currently doing a Treatment for me. What should my next step be?

I told you everything I knew about IOD.  I suggest your next step would be to research them a little bit.

Dear Simply Scripts,
I apologize for any misunderstanding about my company, Iowa On-Demand.  Our company is 100% legit and has completed with great quality all services requested and paid for by all of our customers.  Our company is new to the scene but we do offer many services at our website.

Thank You

Ol' Chad a few posts up there is under the impression that you also serve in the capacity of an agent?  Is that true?

And if so, must one use your editing services in order to obtain representation?

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

No offense, but this means jack-shit coming from you.  The Screenplay Agency says the same thing.  So does the Woodside Literary Agency.

Can you list any clients you've represented in the past year?

From what I saw on their website, the offer proofing, treatment writing, and even script writing based on an outline or treatment services, as well as some other things.

I didn't notice anything about representation though.
