All right, what’s the deal? We’re being overrun with bots. I know why AdSense is here. But where did -

Googlebot
MSN Bot
Yahoo! Bot

- come from? Are they supposed to be here? There are more bots than people! Run!

It's the future. More machines than people. Get used to it.

But seriously, I wanna know why they're here also.

This is why I cleverly choose to have no cyber soul.

It's a lifestyle choice. Finally paying off. Woot.

I purchased my cyber soul a few weeks ago. On the package it said "Do not activate if bot-like systems are running within 5 cyber feet."

I failed to listen and now I will pay the price.

Oh it was so obvious! With today's technology, something like this was BOUND to happen! Robots have finally taken over the world!

*Sighs* Well, it was fun living here. Everyone take your suicide pills. Remember to drink a full glass of water.

The way it was explained to me is that they are archiving for search engines. Google, Adsense, MSN and Yahoo all have search engines. It is something along those lines.

Just a lot of smoke and mirrors.

This afternoon I removed the robot.txt file that prohibited search engines from indexing the discussion board.  These bots index the discussion board so that pertinent  queries will show up in search sites like MSN, Yahoo and Google.  In short, more people will see the scripts on the site.

A good thing, I hope.

I've seen bots of similar names on other forums, and what I've been told is that they appear on the online list when someone from the respective search engine comes to this website.  Of course, I have been lied to many, many times before.

On another note, Breanne, your avatar is steamy hot!  My goodness!

Do we have to be nice to them just because they're members?

If they mention scripts they've written that are not on this site, I'm gonna be mad!!!

I fear if Don--yes, THE Don--can conform to evil, there is no hope for humanity.

Hey Don, that’s a very good reason. Thanks.
