Hi everyone,

I have a question, I found a script (posted on a blog from 2004, last post was March 04) that I would love to use for a short film, but i can't contact the writer. I've tried emails, 3 different accounts 2 bounced back as invalided and the last has had no reply.

This has been on going for 4 months now, I've tried everything I could think of and some that others said to try, but still no luck.

So my question is, should I just give up and move on or could I credit the writer and preside or...?

I think you should give up. You can get in all kinds of trouble if you don't have the writer's permission. Who knows, the script might have been optioned or sold.

Move on.  Using someone's script without their permission is copyright infringement.  If the writer appears down the road, he can stop you from showing your film in festivals and such.  And sue you.

Well it's a shame I couldn't located the writer, as it was a nice short, but after looking around I found that you guys and gals here are a very talented group. Maybe I can find something here.

Thanks!
