So for some reason I am unable to convert my fdr files to pdf. I recently switched to Final Draft 7. Never had this problem with the older version 5, has anyone encountered such a problem?

No.

Check with Final Draft if there's any updates that you need.

Ayham,

You probably need the 7.1.3 upgrade - or you can just download a free pdf converter (CutePDF works well), then you can print any document as a pdf file.

In the FD drop down menu, chose "print" then it will ask you if you want a pdf, chose "yes".

what is happening exactly is this: i save a final draft file as pdf, but when i click on it, it opens to empty pages...only page numbers show up but the pages are blank otherwise...it's very strange, i never had this problem before...i will check out the 7.1.3 update, thanks sniper...

Me, you're saying to chose the print function in the drop down menu in the pdf...should i still do that even though the file is blank?

here's another thing i'm thinking about: this software was given to me from a friend who already installed it on his own computer. i installed it on mine but we both didn't register it online. maybe my computer thinks this is some type of a trial version of final draft, that's why it's not allowing me to convert to pdf? this is driving me CRAZY!!!

You can quickly tell if it's a trail version - I belive the save-function is disabled and all your paper print will be watermarked "demo" or something like that.

Btw. the 7.1.3 is not an update, it's an upgrade which will cost you money, just so that you are warned.

I think Me/Pia meant that you should chose the print function in Final Draft, not in the open pdf document (correct me if I'm wrong Pia).
