Got this one primed and ready for a viewing.

Just wondering if anyone has seen it, 'cos the premise is fascinating and I would love to discuss it after seeing it.

I've seen it, Andrew.  It's very good, and ironically quite the anti-depressant.

I wasn't a huge fan of it.  I thought it had a lot of potential but wasted it with a screenplay that was all over the place.

I haven't seen it, been meaning to since it came out though.

Anything that Tom Waits deemed worthy to lend himself to is always worth a look in my very humble opinion.

If my memory serves me right, he's the best part of the film.  But that always seems to be the case.  For example, his segment in "Coffee & Cigarettes" was my favorite.  Loved the interplay between him and Iggy Pop.

Yep, Tom is the man, no question.

The Steve Coogan/Alfred Molina segment was another stand out in C&G.

Well, I watched it and was left ultimately disappointed.

Place the source material in the hands of great director, and I truly believe you would have Oscar material. However, the director just went for the odd, and the leads were pretty dull with their performances. For me, the only way this film can work is if it has a lot of heart. The array of possibilities were huge here, and it's a shame the compelling premise was squandered.

I just imagine someone like Cameron Crowe helming this and it resonates what a wasted opportunity this was.
