There are ways to knock the lead guy (or anybody) out of the running.  It would be dirty pool, but very possible.

Phil (loves dirty pool)

Ha! This could be viewed as 'Circalit coup', so proposing it on a public forum may not be the best plan!!

It would only be an issue if something were at stake - like someone buying your script because you're king of Circalit.  I don't think that's a possibility though, not at the moment anyway, probably not ever.

Aye, true. I am tempted to join, just to help out the chaps on here. Don't really have anything worthy of consideration myself, though.

As someone said earlier, having a shit script win the audience of the script readers is going to put a nail in Circalit's coffin.

I guess this is what you should expect from a free competition.

Well, you do get free coverage - 3-5 pages. I'm not sure from who, though I think it's a British company.

Then again, the way mine is testing with the UKers here, that might be something really, really good for me... (0:

That and dirty pool.  I'm seeing certain trends that I don't like at the moment.

Mysterious (or not so mysterious) people are popping up and pretty much sabotaging scripts.  It's the triggerstreet method, but doesn't involve as much work unfortunately.

I read some of the lead script and posted comments on it.  The writer doesn't take well to criticism and posts nasty replies on the Bad Penguin script thread.

What a tool.

There's a reason I never bothered with that site.

We need to circle the wagons.  I'm 24 fans down.

That guy even said that he's relying on friends to bring his numbers up.

And it's not that great a read.  Honest.

No shit, that's why I think I can take it if I get my fan count up.  I'm getting good reviews for the most part.

Quoted from Dave Clark on Bad Penguin thread
And I bet I have less than 3 incorrect words.

Forget the fact that he sounds like an idiot, but...

Quoted from Dave Clark's synopsis of his script
He finds himself living for one thing only: playing his Fender Stratocaster, much like his musical inspiration, Jimmy Hendrix.

Whoopsie.

Be excellent to each other

Well Mike, I've lost track on this thread and don't know what's going on, but I'll say this:

I've never been a big fan of trying to "drum numbers". It's not what I do. (If I knew how to do it.)

To me it's all about a difficult and fine craft and a lot of personality generated into it.

Some people are lucky enough to have both the personality and the craft.

Lucky you, you're included in that happy-dappy group.

Reading work from certain individuals is like magic. They jump off the page and their words come to life. I won't mention names, but there are certain people here on Simply that can do that.

So--

I'll be the first to be serious here (though I might joke around a lot) and say our writers are raw, engaged, and outrageous. Some are even religious to the point of damnation.

I guess being a "not paid" reader, that's what I look for. People who give a shit.

Most of the people I see here on a regular basis most certainly do.

Sandra
