I've been working on a full length horror script as my first stab (no pun intended) at screenwriting and I feel like I have my ducks in a row. It's hard for me to keep at it because I'm concerned with if I'm formatting correctly or if I'm using 'INTERCUT' or 'CONTINUOUS' right. I've noticed though from reading other scripts that a couple people are writing really short scripts.
I've been wondering that would be a good practice for me or if I should keep tackling this full length. I'm kind of anxious to see the criticism for my works and a short script would speed of that.
I guess my question is do any of you, more talented screenwriters, use short scripts as a tool to amp yourselves up for the big ones? Also, I have my introduction to the horror script that I'm wondering if someone could critique?
Note: No disrespect to those who limit themselves to writing short stories as I find those more of a challenge to storytelling than 90 pages.

For starters, you should be leaving comments for those authors letting them know what you thought -- good or bad -- and they will be far more likely to take an interest in what you have written.

Yep. Everybody wants that. It is why we are here.
But it is no reason to rush something and post it up.
Take your time. Make it as good as you can make it. With every work you post, you are building a brand -- and a readers first experience with that brand should be a positive one, you know?
How often have you gone back to a restaurant if your first experience sucked?
Same thing is true with authors -- be it Shorts or Features. As for a preference between them, that is a personal thing, and it is unlikely that anybody's response will apply specifically to you.
I would recommend that you hop over to the "Work in Progress" board if you simply cannot fight the urge to post something before it is complete.

Understood. I tried not giving my input on scripts because I haven't written any myself, but I'll give that other board a look. Thanks for the heads up.
