You guys have any suggestions? If you're a filmaker in Cleveland Email me! Started to search sites on google. Was bored.

Hoping you folks may have a better insight into finding filmakers in a specific area. I've pretty much had enough blah, blah emails, and want to at least start producing a few shorts on my own.

was hoping for some insight. Just about every director who's contacted me has had work that makes me wanna stick my fucken head in a garbage can and vomit. Even when i say okay, they never write back.

I'm getting serious about being hands on with this. Don't want my name attached to a piece of shit. I got some money. Would rather watch a few shorts get made. Be directly in the process of mine. Hopefully, direct my own someday.

Anywho, main things is finding people passionate about film in my area. Anyone? Are there decent sites for this??

Try craigslist.  Most of my shorts that were produced started with filmmakers loking for scripts on craigslist.

Not looking for someone to just make my scripts, just get involved in the process. Volunteer to work on a few shorts. Was hoping to work with some locals if I flip the bill.

You put your scripts on Craigslist? You whore.

Try Inktip also. The shorts section is free.

And here's another site to connect with filmmakers: http://www.dvxuser.com

I don't put my scripts on craigslist.  Though I am a whore....

I look for postings from filmmakers looking for scripts.

You can also check for groups on Yahoo. I discovered a filmmakers' group in Tulsa by searching on Yahoo. They actually have weekly meetings and such. Got a couple of actors out of it. There may be something similar in your area. You just gotta use the internet as a resource.

Why wait for anyone to make your film? I noticed you didn't wait for a publisher to bring your books to life so why give your vision and creative work to bland wannabe's? All the resources you need including equipment access and training are available via the Federal Government. Check out the website below. You don't need to play the game and deal with the B#$*!*$, the wheeling and dealing of the insufficient and untalented few. You can do this probably better and more financially rewarding than anybody you know or can find. The movie business is changing. The studios are no longer in charge and most wouldn't know a good script if it slapped them in the face. It's what I'm doing and a lot of people I know are doing the same.

I'd rather put my script in the hands of someone with experience than do it myself. Before someone shoots something of mine, I look into their work.  If I don't like it, my work doesn't get filmed.

My goal is to be able to say that I, as a fimmaker, am "Phil Clarke Jr Approved." It's not official till Phil sends you the stamp.

Check out Mandy.com.  Great resource for reaching professional (and amateur) filmmakers.
