I recently signed up  to be a member of icopyright. It is free so I figured what the heck. Was just wondering if anyone knew about the service and does it really work in copyrighting one's works in lieu of a real copyright or registering with the WGA. Marvin.

Marvink

The U.S goverment does Copyright services without the middle man. I have used them It's easy, cost $35.00 and the entire process to get your work into the system take about 15 minutes.
The actual process of having work Copyrighted can take months to get completed due to backlogs in the system but you get a comformation of the exact time, you registered with them for protection purposes.

Having flipped through this website, I'm still going with the Library of Congress.

Ledbetter, Phil thanks for your replies. I think you are right. I'll just get the regular copyright, just to be safe.  Thanks, Marvin.

Seems like an unprotected site, normally the sites I go to have an encryption lock to make sure everything you upload is secure. http://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/

Normally they have them on the home page, other than that, it could just be a flashy website trying to steal your money and material? or maybe I'm slightly paranoid
