Seems like an easy enough question, right?  Well, for those of us without "connections", it's really not.

So, I just finished the fifth draft of a screenplay I've been working on, and I want to devote my efforts to getting it out there now.  The question is, what's the best thing to do?  Screenplay competitions, script blasting websites, personal query letters, all of the above?  And where's the best place to find places to send query letters (especially seeing as most places don't accept unsolicited material)?

I know some of you might suggest throwing it up on here to help my chances, but seeing as it's a new idea, I'm kind of protective of it, and I don't want to make it so readily available to everyone just yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Consider registering it with WGA / Library of Congress, if you haven't already.

Before you spend money on competitions / coverage, consider putting on here, if only for a limited time (say a month), to get some feedback. You can get some good pointers here, and even if people point out typos you've missed, it'll be worth it. Do some review exchanges with people, fire round some PMs and secure some reads. All that jazz.

As for what to do after that - well, I'll let someone more experienced chip in there.

Guess who's back? Back again?

There's no one answer to this question.  I like competitions, myself.  Visit Moviebytes to learn which competition rates well.

If you're afraid to post here, then you'll be afraid submit to competitions, though....
