Hi,

I've already said "thanks" for the great exposure provided by SS. Many people looking for shorts to film seem to be checking the unproduced page. But shouldn't we have the time to revise our scripts first? I'd like to have a week, at least, to get reviews and make the necessary changes. 2-3 days are just not enough.

Thanks,
Manolis

Scripts are added to the unproduced page after you UPLOAD them, usually 7-10 days, sometimes less.  If you need time to revise, take the time.  In my own experience, producers don't mind waiting for an upgraded draft of the script.

If that's what you meant.

Yes. But sometimes the revision is vital. For example, the revised version of my first SS script was quite different (and funnier) than the initial one. Hadn't I had the time to revise it, no one would have been interested in it in the first place. My latest script, on the other hand, was put on the unproduced paged only a couple of days after it was posted to the forum. It's a good idea, but people didn't even get it (my bad, of course). So I would have liked to have the time to make the necessary changes.

Manolis,

Overwhelmingly folks want their scripts up on the Unproduced Scripts page as soon as they are submitted to the site.

Wait, I had the impression that the scripts first appear in the discussion board and then (some days later) in this page:

http://www.simplyscripts.com/unpro.html

Let me apologize if that's not the case. But I do think there is a difference between posting a script to get feedback and posting it to attract producers. The initial drafts are rarely good enough for production.

Once you submit a script it's on the internet for everyone to see...

Don posts every Sunday, a list of scripts posted that week for anyone who only looks on the HOME page only.

If you feel your script is not ready for producers to see, don't submit it until you're happy with it.

If you want the ability to switch drafts without bothering Don, I would suggest using Dropbox or what I've heard google docs. You get feedback, do the changes, and update it yourself. Also, type in the thread that your new draft is up. This is from personal experience. Lol.

Manolis,

That is the process, however I do not differentiate between the two and, overwhelmingly, people who submit their work to the site want it up on the Unproduced (simplyscripts.com/unpro.html) section as quickly as possible.

I wasn't aware scripts went onto the Unproduced page so quick. Sounds fair enough and is good to know.

Mind you, I'm also not aware of where I left the car. I also couldn't find my trousers this morning and, once again, I seem to be a shoe missing.

I can't go the shops like this. And even if I do, I won't get back in as my keys were in that shoe. I would say now I know how Cinderalla felt. But that would be silly, as I've never touched her.

I thought this procedure was common knowledge and I think it works fine as is.
Not too sure I understand the nature of complaint.

Athenian -- you think you should be able to send in a script, have it reviewed, then be able to to change it after you have been reviewed in order to impress possible producers? All this before the webmaster posts it on the unproduced page?

Just trying to get an angle of what you mean, it's come across as a very odd query.

You post the best version of your work. It's great that it gets mentioned on the front page. It's great that it gets posted, period. I can't understand the issue here, maybe a problem with translation?

Okay, Don! I had misunderstood the process (thought that the writers were given some time to revise their scripts after they were discussed in the forum), that's why I complained in the first place. Sorry if my request came across as demanding or unreasonable. Keep up the great work!

Pia, Gabe and all, thanks for the comments and the advice!
