I'm looking for a kind of movie where a man is a party animal at first and in the end he falls in love or somethign and gets his act straight.

I remember there was one with Ryan Reynolds, but can't remember which one. I raided his imdb page but couldn't find the one I have in mind. Maybe you know some.

I'm actually in need of a script - want to read something like that. But if you tell me what to look for I'll start searching for the script.

Thanks!

It's called Van Wilder.

There's also a movie named Project X. It's about teenagers though and the main guy is more of learning some lessons in the end, he's changing, but only when he has already messed up a lot of things like relationships, his home and even his neighborhood.

But I think there are a lot of other movies, maybe even connected with art house or settled within different specific groups like the music scene for example. I come back if something else comes to my mind

Should be a few of these even fromTwo Weeks Notice, to a female Protag in Raising Helen.

Quite a few Christmas films in this theme as well.

I have a list, difficult to say which fits best to the criteria you're searching:

Old School
Road Trip
Accepted
How High
Can't Hardly Wait      all kind of a bit trashy like Van Wilder

Of course "Studio 54" based on a true story
Berlin Calling      pic about an electronic-DJ on drugs, more of a drama, I guess the screenplay's not available in English.
The Great Gatsby
The Social Network definitely this works a lot with party and lifestyle aspects
Coyote Ugly    woman as a lead
Alpha Dog    here it's just all going down like in "Kids", if I remember right
Superbad    is more of losers becoming somebody - so not perfectly fitting
Wedding Crashers  not a complete party movie
Limitless      is  about a guy, Bradley Cooper, living an excessive life because of a super drug

Haven't seen Spring Breakers, The Rules of Attraction, and also those movies from the 70's and 80's like Bachelor Party, Risky Business, Animal House

I hope you find something interesting.

@Bill, thanks, never heard of these two, I'll check them out. Actually your Pagan Man would be the perfect fit, but I think you took it out of the dropbox - it's not there.

@Prussian, wow, thanks. I'll check them out, lots of what you wrote I haven't seen. Old School is one of my favorites by the way - looks like you like these as well. The other 4 after Old School I haven't heard of - I'll check them out. Alpha Dog sounds like what I need - let's see.

About a Boy is another that comes to mind.

In effect you are looking for a wild man turned good.

I will PM you a link to Pagan Man - not sure why it didn't work - but you would probably be better learning from decent stock rather than mine.

Thanks. I liked the character study in your Pagan Man. At any rate, I want to see what works and what not - including the ones sited, some of them are very average in my opinion.
