Sorry I haven't been around in a while but I was suddenly swamped with work which I kinda brought on myself by applying for too many jobs. That has slowed now... a little, so I'll be around more. Not that anyone could give an eff, most likely. I suppose I just feel guilty after being away for a while and then returning with a blatant advert for myself. So, without further ado, here it is.
I can't remember if I listed this story here properly or if I started a separate thread for it... or even if it was with this title... but anyway, it's one of my favourite story-types, the old revenge thriller with a twist. No hidden or profound messages, just, hopefully, solid entertainment.
The Brits here may recognise the two actors in this, certainly with a quick Google search of their names they should dingle a bell. The director is Mark Noyce a great guy who I'm working with on another short of mine, Dear Departed... it's only rumoured atm, but Sue Holderness has read and loves the script, and she's favoured for the part. Fingers crossed on that one.
In terms of this story, there will be an Indiegogo campaign to hopefully help with some of the funding... as you all know, nobody profits monetarily from shorts, they're made to keep our hand in, to keep us working, and to help further our careers, so that will be up soon.
It's great to hear all is going well for you. Btw, you were conspicuous by your absence this last OWC.
P.S. I remember writing a review for at least one of yours which was 'revenge' in style but I don't recognise this title ... Or maybe I do. Now I'm stumped actually. Would have to look it up. Anyway, it looks the part.
I did take a look at the last OWC but I do a lot of audio adaptations these days and to go from writing only using sound to only using visuals was just too much for me to cope with. I'm still doing the audio work and I love it... partly because of the challenge it presents. So far I've adapted everything from classic novels like Conrad's Lord Jim to children's stories like the one I'm currently working on, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I'm hoping to use this work as leverage to get on the UK audio drama scene... maybe even at the production level as I know some good people and these are cheap as chips to produce and the BBC pay quite a bit for them.
It was drawn by the Director/Producer Mark Noyce who shares my love of pulp fiction. I'm hoping that he can print some off and have them hand-signed as a perk for the Indiegogo campaign. I'm going to have one framed and set it above my desk too.
