Marty, others might be better versed in this than me.

Writer's Guild Of Australia, WGA U.S West & East., Library of Congress, etcetera.

I don't bother usually unless I have to, or feel it's so genius I need to.

Welcome to SS, btw.

Okay, well now you sound like my husband.

I'm pretty sure they'd take your money.
That said, I don't know enough about it...

A quick search gives some varied info from fellow writers:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Scree....._to_register_script/

This at the start -

The AWG has a bilateral agreement with the WGA, so registering with them is as good.

-- That said, registering your screenplay doesn't equal to commercially owning your screenplay in the US -- the US is not a signatory of the Berne Convention. The only way to really truly protect your work globally is to register it with the Library of Congress. (Google Library of Congress + Copyright.)

Other SSers have opinions I'm sure.

Apparently yes, you can.

Oh, and you guys just pretend. Biggest gabbers and gossipers I know.

P.S. I was just being funny, or attempting to be with the money line.

You're just full of spunk, ain't ya? Libby was implying that guys are capable of being even bigger gossipers than the ladies. Not sure how you missed it.

not as spunky as you.

The reason "I missed" it and dont understand, is because its written in unclear f***ing gibberish.

What a strange thread... how exactly did this take such a weird turn? It doesn't make one iota of fucking sense. I feel like I'm reading a scene from a David Lynch film.

Without having read the script I have a strong feeling it’s not going to be worth copywriting.

Thanks, Zack.
At least someone got my humour.

Anyway, OPs original question asked and answered so let's leave it there.

Copyright is generally implied without registration. The WGA/American copyright stuff is generally more american.
