It was not a criticism, just an observation about the last few entries. You should, of course, take the time you need to give the end appropriate justice.
I was trying to figure something out that would tie loose ends together and it might be a longer post...
I think the later in the game we are, posts should take longer... no?
I think this is to be expected. It's a very common thing that happens in our writing- outline or not I think.
We begin with a "full speed ahead" kind of attitude. We're in love with characters- the whole thing is entertaining and exciting, but somewhere along the line, we have to face the facts... And because we were "as a group" having different visions of this, we were left in a muddle; so our only redemption is A VAMPIRE!!!!
I think that there is a "Vampire Consulting Firm" in the Other World, and they know all the ins and outs of life by virtue of the fact that they are able to live so long before reincarnating.
Perhaps Zadora works at The Firm as an "Eric Brockovich" and is able to settle all scores with her uncanny wit and wisdom!!!
I think...to Pia's credit...that we all got a little spoiled because our posts were going up much faster than the 48 hour limit requirement.
She admitted that she was busy...so I'm waiting on pins and needles for her entry and to see who is left standing...who knows...maybe one will be left sitting
I love words and the fact that when the page is blank...there's nothing there until words are formulated in my brain. Those thoughts...rushing through my viens and out my finger tips, find "life" on the page.
When people and places come to life...that to me is exciting.

Go Pia!
The pins and needles have been generated and it's exciting to see how Pia will traverse this crazy kingdom and work through the muddle that has resulted. I am really excited to learn how she will pull us out of it!!!
Some of the posts seemed a bit rushed -- with continuity tossed to the wind -- and they might have benefitted from at least a few more hours(?) on the drawing board. I never understood what the big rush was.
That, and life outside the boards will intrude -- at least, from time to time.
I must admit, having not visited the boards yesterday I thought the S.S.Craven would have indeed run it's course by now. The posts were flying up and sometimes perhaps a little too quick. I don't envy you Pia, you got to somehow tie things together when it's going a stray, good luck.
Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.
It's important to have the deadline. Things don't get done if people don't have deadlines. It certainly would be quite different doing this exercise if we had to wait a week between posts or say we had no deadline and someone wanted to take a year. I'm willing to extend the time for posting from 48 to 72 hours - if everyone wants that but, I think, no longer. And after that period I will enforce moving on to the next turn.
I'm sorry if it seems like I'm coming down on Pia about this because I know she is very busy right now but if Pia didn't have time to do this there were other arrangements that were discussed and could have been made. Pia chose to take this turn and she knows the rules - you all know the rules. I'm here to enforce them for you and I will do that whether it makes me a monster or not - even if I piss off a couple of people because I cancel Pia's turn.
I let you have a lot of leeway with this game as far as creativity was concerned but the rules that I provided are there for a reason and I do expect them to be followed.

Don't get me wrong, Cap'n C. I agree, and think you have been doing a good job of keeping things organized.
My point is that if you have 24 hours -- or 48, or whatever it was -- I did not understand why some people felt compelled to pound something out in an hour or two and post it up straight away.
At one point there were, like, 3 or 4 the same day, I believe -- and sometimes important details that had gone before were completely disregarded.
My only point was to encourage those that participate in your next go-round to take the time to study the previous posts -- and let their creativity simmer a bit -- without imposing some arbitrary self-imposed deadline on themselves.
Enthusiasm is great, but nobody is going to gripe if you sleep on your contribution -- and read through it again the next day before you toss it up.
I did read through the whole thing today (took a looooong time) trying to get a handle on everything so I could tie up a few ends... there were quite a few.
I was too busy today to write mine though. We were busy at work which is good and takes priority over anything else and then we spent the afternoon and early evening recording some stuff for the Doritos commercial I'm attempting to submit for the Doritos Superbowl contest. Wish me luck!
I will definitely have something written before the end of tomorrow. Sorry I'm taking so long.
Good luck Me. People are inspired differently. Some can churn out an idea quickly than others.

I think that is because I slanted the game toward quick posts. This is our first try at this - it's going to be illogical - always is when people do this sort of thing the first time. So honestly - I thought - the best goal to aim for was to finish.
At one point there were, like, 3 or 4 the same day, I believe -- and sometimes important details that had gone before were completely disregarded.
Important to whom? There's more than one person writing this - someone doesn't want to pick up a storyline that probably means it isn't important to them. Collaboration is the story lines that survive.
My only point was to encourage those that participate in your next go-round to take the time to study the previous posts -- and let their creativity simmer a bit -- without imposing some arbitrary self-imposed deadline on themselves.
Absolutely. The next go has story, more focused sets of characters and some special rules thrown in to encourage the continuation of story lines. I hope that people go more for quality than speed with the next game. I hope that you join in as well, bert.
I don't necessarily see the quick posts as a bad thing. I know personally before i even wrote my scenes I had an idea of what I wanted to happen next, which was why it was quick for me to write my posts and even then I waited a few hours before I posted just to make sure it was what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it.
Given that this is our first exercise like this, i think that (like Ccornetto said) an ending was more important than say, making sure everything made sense and fell into some synchronized order. I think getting a feel for how we work together and also what kind of story we can create was more important than creating a logical plot. Of course there are going to be things that are left out, of course the finished product will have many missed forshadowings and character opportunities in addition plot holes up the arse, but I think that's something that is bound to happen in such an exercise with as many authors and as many different interpretations as we had.
I'm sure as we get more used to each other's way of writing, each other's strengths and weaknesses, and perhaps start bouncing ideas off one another a little bit more (as opposed to ""waiting to see" what another person does) we will be able to create a more stable yet dynamic story.
I do agree that you are the captain of this effort Cornetto...and I believe the rule was 48 hours for our post. I also agree that as moderator you are in the position to crack the whip if need be to keep this game moving...it would be awful if we had to wait more than 48 hours for a post.
I do believe along the way we did get excited and that excitement kept the game moving along as everyone was engaged and motivated by that excitement.
Keep up the good work and know that we appreciate all that you have done in putting this together and keeping it rolling...so much behind the scenes...you were diligent to keep the track sheet updated, send the emails and keeping track of everyone.
Without some form of accountability it could get out of hand...so w in no way think you are being pissy
I also still believe that when it is someone's turn and they have been notified by your email that they have 24 hours to respond and confirm/let you know they are capable of completing their portion within the 48 hour time frame. If not, then you can make adjustments and notify another person in order to keep the game running smoothly.
