THE RULES

The object of this game is to end up as the sole survivor.

A killer is on the loose and no one knows who they are.  The killer wants to be the sole survivor too.  In order to survive the killer will need to kill every one who isn't a likely suspect.  The most likely suspect will face the killer in a vote by their peers - whoever is voted the killer will perish.

There are three rounds.  One player will be killed during the first round. Two players will be killed during the second.  Three players will be killed during the third.  Then a vote will be held based on the two remaining players.  Which one is the killer?  The player voted as the killer will be the last to go.

A player still continues to write even after their character is dead.  They just write about other characters.

YOUR TURN

When it is your turn I will send an email stating that it is your turn.   I will also post that it is your turn in this discussion thread.  Refer to the discussion thread to get information you will need for your turn.

In your email only, I will also state if it is your turn to die. You may also be provided with additional instructions which you will follow.

You will write a scene and post it in the game thread.

You have 24 hours to acknowledge my email. If you do not acknowledge then your turn will be postphoned or cancelled.

You have 48 hrs to write your scene + or - a few hours.  It is recommended that you choose one of the other players to read your scene post before you post it.

Please tell me as soon as you can if you will not make your turn so we can keep the game moving.

GENERAL SCENE GUIDELINES

Keep it low budget and real.

You may create incidental characters but please try to stick to the 8 player characters.  You may also kill incidental characters you create or that other people create and leave lying around.

As a note: I'm pretty sure the deaths will be unattended trap type deaths - in case you kill an incidental character.

A scene can be no longer than one post in a thread.  If you use Word then this is somewhere around 7,850 characters including spaces and lines.

All formatting will be left aligned (see game thread for example).  All locations slugs should be in bold. [ b ]slug[ / b ]  like that without the spaces.

You may have more than one location in your scene.

If you introduce another character please consider the bio given by the player.

During a general scene your mission is to develop “story”.  This might be your character’s “story” or if your character has already been murdered (this might happen) then you will need to develop another character’s “story”.  You may even choose to develop more than one character.

The important thing is that there are no player murders during a general scene.
During this scene, you should move characters around, have them talk to each other, cast suspicion, gossip.

Make the reading interesting. Follow an earlier “storyline”.  A general scene can be just about anything that moves the “story” forward.   I’m putting story in quotes here because there really isn’t much of a story here, more than likely there will be many fragments of stories, after all this is a game.

DEATH SCENE GUIDELINES

You will be notified when it's time for your character to die.  You will also be provided with the method.  The killer is deciding the order and the method.

You may lead up to it, give your character some closure, do whatever you can to make it interesting but you must follow the method provided.

Most importantly the killer must not be seen.

Dennis Mark (grademan) (late 40s), one of the comic dinosaurs, is too old to be fresh and too young to be legendary. Sometimes introduced as “the raunchiest man in comedy” his gigs are often one long diatribe of raunchiness. He hasn’t been funny since his last cable TV showcase (a watered down 30 minute special that was supposed to be a premiere event) ten years ago. But his name is still drawing hard-drinking hecklers and diehard fans into the small town clubs, so he has a job.

Dennis dreams of making it big again. He used to be a great joke writer and teller. But first, he needs that one night to get him started. He’s road weary and fears he won’t be in the game much longer. He doesn’t want to do gigs like The Smoking Gun Presents: The World’s Dumbest or security guard with Gary Coleman.

Dennis will do anything to get back to the big venues but for now he’s stuck in small dives.

Mark Donovan (TobyE) (27) is considered the best mma (mixed martial arts) fighter around. As the son of the legendary boxer Harry Donovan, there was never any doubt that Mark would follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional fighter.

Originally hailing from London, UK, Mark has been living and fighting in Las Vegas, Nevada for the past three years. He trains twice a day and puts in the work to make sure there isn't an ounce of fat on his body, which is quite an accomplisment seeing as he stands at 6 ft 4 inches tall, and weighs a whopping 205 lbs.

With Dana White, President of UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) calling him "the best fighter the UFC has ever seen", and his fighting record standing undefeated at 23-0, there is no doubt in anyone's mind that Mark Donovan is at the top of his game and will be for many years to come.

Tommy (Tommyp) (27), can talk his way in, and out, of anything. He doesn't like the term "conman", but sees him self as an "opportunist" instead. Since the age of 8, when he talked his next door neighbour into buying him a new bike, a motorbike that is, he has been scamming people out of their money.

From fake cheques, to romance scams, Tommy has dabbled in it all. With a quick mouth, a sharp wit, and the level of confidence you only dream about, Tommy has been living the life of luxury for years. Mansions, girls, helicopters, and the recent addition of his personal island, keeps Tommy happy and content.

Mitch “Coop” Cooper (Dreamscale) 34, heads up the Boating Safety and Regulations Department in Lake Simply.  Coop is a simple man, who has spent his entire life in the resort community.  Well liked and respected, Coop lives alone with his dog, Chomper.

Coop is a physical specimen, with a rock hard chiseled body, and a full head of bleached blonde hair.  He’s known to be somewhat of a Playboy with the vacationing women that come and go.  No one has a bad thing to say about him.

Andrew (xerces_) 47, an accountant, has never been married. Socially inept, and withdrawn, due to bad experiences, and now just out of habit. Is generally kind, but has small characteristics that put people off. Came to the resort to get away from his old life, and live off his unspent small fortune - and maybe, finally, find a partner.

Lovisa Hammare (me) (50) from sweden. Even though a "free spirit" Lovisa is well liked in the community. She loves kids and readily babysits and bakes cookies and treats for all the children.

She lives in a cute idyllic cottage she loves to invite members in the community to. ...only very few however have ever been down into her cellar where her she keeps all her pagan stuff, including the sacrificial altar...

Christian Blaine (TheBoyWhoCouldFly) 20, was a genius in highschool and even  got accepted to Yale, but ended up falling in love with weed, cocaine and Ecstasy.  He now spends his days dealing drugs and getting high, he makes good money but blows a lot of it on his own habits.  He's charming and doesn't have trouble getting laid, but they are usually just one night stands.  He feels lonely a lot and sometimes wishes he could be that kid he was back in highschool, but his addictions always win that battle.

Doris Kilman (JonnyBoy) mid-30s, is a poor, lonely church volunteer. She is at Lake Simply on a vacation paid for by fellow members of her congregation, a vacation she was reluctant to take. A woman with a sad life story, she is quiet, unattractive, usually poorly dressed - the kind of person you wouldn't give a second glance.

But though Doris has God in her heart, she has poison in her head. She has suffered in her life, suffered greatly, and she loathes all who she feels have had it easy and not fully appreciated it.  She is poor, she knows the evils of the world, its unkindness and injustices  - she despises these people at Lake Simply, with their glamorous lifestyles and lavish ways, their thoughtless spending of money they take for granted. She is angry, always so angry and bitter. They must repent, they must be shown the Light – God has chosen her for this task! Her congregation might have thought that sending her to Lake Simply would give her a much needed rest, help to her relax – in fact, they may have made things

If you're very concerned about it then you can send it to me before you post it and I'll give it a read.

Okay....

Thanks for that Jordan!

Well, I'm glad my character got some action.

Good start of the game though. Intrigue and action right off the bat.

You're welcome Pia, I was thinking about adding some toys and maybe some farm animals as well, but I think it would have made it too long

Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
