A Girl Called Simplicity by Christopher Bate - Comedy - In a world of speed and internet dating, it is important to remember that sometimes you can find love in the unlikeliest of places at the unlikeliest of times. Daniel learns this first-hand when he is stranded at a service station after his coach breaks down on his way home for his grandfather's funeral. Sad and weary, Daniel just wants to get home but then he strikes up a conversation with a girl called Simplicity and the two just click! She offers him a lift home and the two bond over stories of bad haircuts, books and sexual misadventures. Romance blossoms as romance often does, but things aren't quite so easy as that. Not only does Daniel have to come to grips with his beloved grandfather's death, he also has to contend with Simplicity's rather eccentric father who knows all of the right buttons to push to undermine him. Simplicity supports him through the former, but the latter is a tougher proposition and that's where the trouble starts. 97 pages - rtf, format
