The Sixth Borough Screenwriting Competition is a way for Screenwriters to get their scripts into the hands of industry professionals with the possibility of having their vision make it from page to screen. Sixth Borough Entertainment is currently in search of a script to make a 1 to 2 million-dollar feature within the next year. That is where you come in... The winner will be offered an option contract for a Feature Film! Do you have the next great script?

This guy's been advertising his competition in a lot of different boards, but I can't find anything positive about him or the competition.  The fact that he's offering discounts and has extended the deadline are both big red flags.

It's good to know that Alexis can cut and paste his original posting, rather than address anything that I brought up.

No -- I merged the threads once he started spamming.

Your point is nevertheless well taken.

Nice looking web-site; 50 bucks to enter, 80 bucks for entry plus coverage...Caveat Emptor, I guess.

There are a lot of competitions that one can enter.  New ones--untested ones--have their advantages and disadvantages.  The advantage is that the odds are more in your favor.  The disadvantages are that the competition could be a scam; it could be poorly run; it will be very insignificant to those who enter.

If you want to enter a competition, visit Moviebytes.com.  Competitions are rated by past entrants.
