Created of the funniest children's series, Gravity Falls, posted a request on his twitter feed @_AlexHirsch

Quote

@_AlexHirsch: Hey you. Yes you! Ever wanted to write for Gravity Falls? Due to certain events, The Mayors Office is now reviewing script samples/resumes.

@_AlexHirsch: Send any writing you think is hilarious. Experience = a plus but not necessary. Keep letters short.

@_AlexHirsch: DO NOT SEND "Gravity Falls" sample scripts- only ORIGINAL sample work! GF
stuff will be deleted y'all!  Email: mysteryshackinbox@gmail.com

@_AlexHirsch: Attached photos of owls will increase likelihood of consideration

Somehow, I think Pet Names wouldn't be an appropriate submission.

Phil,

It wouldn't hurt to try. He didn't specify.

I sent him Billy's Boogie Ball.  I'm not really familiar with "Gravity Falls" but I reckon that's sort of around the same age group.  Thanks for the lead, Don.

I dropped him an e-mail with three comedy shorts.  Looking at them, I realize that I shouldn't be writing for kids.

Glad you all submitted stuff.  There is a lot of quirky sense of humor here that I think would be a good fit.

Like the Simpson's, the humor spans generations.  There is something in it for everyone.

Yeah, someone described the show as a cross of a curious pair of shows...
"The Simpsons" & "Eerie, Indiana".
So, naturally my curiosity was piqued.
I sent in Zombie Playground. It's Amblinized kid horror.
So, why not?

Regards,
E.D.

So, I'm curious if anyone else here applied for this gig?
They got over 300 submissions.
I bet someone else here wouldn't mind writing for a cartoon!
Hope I wasn't the only one.

Hey E.D.,

You weren't the only one who submitted something to this

I would absolutely love to write for a cartoon, as I'm still, and fear I may always be, a big kid inside

Yeah, I submitted the opening 12 or so pages from it. I thought the whole 105 pages might scare them away

What did you upload bud? Clone Wife? (which is now, finally, at the top of my to-read list!)

Toby.

Hey Toby,

Actually, I submitted Zombie Playground.
http://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1306532115

That has more in line with the show's thinking.
Kid wish fulfillment fantasy.
Solving their own problems without adult help.
We don't get movies like that much anymore, unless magic wands are involved.

Look forward to hearing what you have to say about Clone Wife!

Regards,
E.D.

Hey Cindy,

Sorry to say the submission deadline was 2/20.

But if anyone of us that did submit hears back...
I think we should bump the thread.
Cuz I doubt they're gonna say when they're done going through the submissions.
Sound good guys?

E.D.
