Recent Achievements by BlueCat Alumni:


2007 BlueCat Winner Ana Lily Amipour's debut feature, 'A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night,' was produced by Elijah Wood and premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.' It will be distributed by Kino Lorber (Oldboy,'Manuscripts Don't Burn) nationwide in Fall 2014.'She is'currently teaming up with Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures for her sophomore feature film'THE BAD BATCH.

BlueCat Finalist Aaron Guzikowski's #1 Film 'Prisoners,' (Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Melissa Leo) was released in September 2013 through Warner Brothers. Guzikowski is also the creator of 'The Red Road,' (Martin Henderson, Jason Momoa, Julianne Nicholson) which is SundanceTV's second scripted original series. He was recently hired to'scribe Universal's upcoming'THE WOLFMAN.

2014 BlueCat Winner HF Crum has signed with manager Michelle Knudsen at MXN. Knudsen co-produced Jason Bateman's 'Bad Words' and also represents screenwriting team Yana Gorskaya & Maia Rossini, who are currently writing a film for FOX and director Paul Feig. Crum's '3 Faces of Hunger & Thirst' won Best Feature Screenplay at the 2014 Slamdance Screenplay Competition.

2014 BlueCat Joplin Award Winner Savion Einstein has been named as one of six fellows to the 2014 Black List Lab and will be mentored by Jessica Bendinger (Bring it On,'Stick It), Max Borenstein (Godzilla,'Seventh Son), Jesse Wigutow (It Runs in the Family,'The Prince) and Scott Myers (K-9,'Alaska).

2006 BlueCat Winner Young Il Kim's script, 'Rodham,' attached director James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now) after having been on the 2012 Black List. Young recently won the 2013 Alfred P. Sloan Commissioning Grant from Sundance, and is currently writing a biopic on Stephen Hawking.

I was confused by the submission fees.  Can someone explain this?  If I submit one screenplay (feature) and they review it, how much am I paying?  Here is this mess that I was lost in:
Screenplay Analysis Schedule
All screenplays submitted by June 15th, 2015 will receive their written analysis by July 1st, 2015. ($55 Features, $35 Shorts).
All screenplays submitted by September 1st, 2015 will receive their written analysis by October 1st, 2015. ($60 Features, $40 Shorts).
All screenplays submitted by October 15th, 2015 will receive their written analysis by November 10th, 2015. ($65 Features, $50 Shorts).
All screenplays submitted by November 15th, 2015 will receive their written analysis by January 15th, 2016. ($70 Features, $60 Shorts).
All analyses will be returned by January 15th, 2016.
Short Screenplay Submission Deadlines and Fees
Each entry will receive one analysis.
Call For Entries ($35 Entry Fee): Entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before June 15th, 2015.
Early Deadline ($40 Entry Fee): Entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before September 1st, 2015.
Regular Deadline ($50 Entry Fee): Entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before October 15th, 2015.
Final Deadline ($60 Entry Fee): Entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before November 15th, 2015.
Student Rate ($35 Entry Fee): Entries must be postmarked or received electronically by November 15th, 2015.
Feature Screenplay Submission Deadlines and Fees
Each entry will receive one analysis.

Resubmission Deadline and Fees
Any screenplay submitted by October 15th, 2015 can be resubmitted by November 15th.
Each original Feature or Short entry may only be resubmitted once.
Early Deadline ($40 Feature Entry Fee, $35 Short Entry Fee): Resubmission entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before September 1st, 2015.
Regular Deadline ($45 Feature Entry Fee, $40 Short Entry Fee): Resubmission entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before October 15th, 2015.
Final Deadline ($50 Feature Entry Fee, $45 Short Entry Fee): Resubmission entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before November 15th, 2015.
Resubmission entries will receive one analysis.
Entrants will have the option of selecting one of their original reader(s) or a new reader upon resubmission.
If your selected reader is not available, you will be offered the option of receiving a refund or choosing a new reader.
Competition Results Announcement Schedule
Quarter-Finalists will be announced February 7th, 2016.
Semi-Finalists will be announced March 1st, 2016.
Shorts Finalists will be announced March 13th, 2016.
Feature Finalists will be announced March 14th, 2016.
Roshan Award will be announced March 19th, 2016.
Joplin Award will be announced March 20th, 2016.
Cordelia Award will be announced March 21st, 2016.
The Shorts Screenplay Winner will be announced March 28th, 2016.
The Feature Screenplay Winner will be announced March 30th, 2016.
Eligibility
Submitted scripts must be original screenplays, and the sole property of the applicant(s).
All ages are eligible.
All entries must be in English.
Feature screenplays must be between 65 and 125 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.
Short screenplays must be between 1 and 49 pages in length. Absolutely no exceptions.
There is no limit to the number of screenplays you may submit.
You may submit a screenplay one time and resubmit that screenplay once.
All entries must be uploaded in PDF format.
Under absolutely no circumstances will substitutions of either corrected pages or new drafts of the entry screenplay(s) be made. Screenplays will not be returned.
If a submitted screenplay becomes optioned, produced or purchased between the time of submission and the end of the judging period, that screenplay will no longer be eligible.
Competition judges, readers and employees of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition, past and present, and their immediate friends and families, are not eligible to enter.
Previous winners of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition are not eligible.
Screenplays, including outlines, treatments, pitches, log lines or any developmental material related to screenplay, that have previously won any contest, competition, grant, lab, fellowship, mentorship, reading or award of any kind, are not eligible.
Screenplays submitted under a pen name will be immediately disqualified.

See, I thought so too Libby, but, why all the other stuff?  It just makes it so confusing.  It seems like it'd cost 90 or even more.

It's been a long time coming but I'm finally willing to give this a shot.

Oh wait. That last line mentions screenplays posted online are ineligible. Does that mean something from here can't be submitted? What???? Why? Am I reading this right?
