Hmmm... thinking about this one.
Anybody have any experience with the Screenwriter's Network? |

I visit there pretty frequently. It’s been around for a number of years now, this is I think their third contest that they’ve hosted (I placed second in their Public Domain contest in the spring).
It’s a really supportive community with an active member base. |

Congrats on that 2nd place finish.
You get any buzz from it? |

I can vouch for the Screenwriters Network too. I entered a short version of my Mermaniac script to Killer Shorts. Fingers crossed. (Though having read a bunch of the shorts here, I don't think I stand a chance.) |

Thanks for the input. I'll probably drop one in. |

This sounds like it could be cool. I've never entered a competition where I had to pay. May consider this one. |

I dropped a rewrite of COLD BLOOD into the contest.
Freaky, because the script finishes on Nov. 15, 2019... the contest deadline and the 60th anniversary of the killings that the script is based on... that's gotta be some kind of first. And, some kind of sign.
I think I should get bonus points for that. |

Cue Twilight Zone opening music. Good luck, PK. It's a great spooky lil script. |

Congrats to Mark Renshaw for Ganglers.
Cold Blood didn’t advance. Gotta say, I’m a bit surprised it couldn’t even clear the quarters.
Oh well. I like it. Gotta be satisfied with that. |

It started as an OWC here. I removed the hacksaw requirement but the rest is nearly the same, just tweaked a bit and extended slightly. |

Congratulations Rene!
Weirdly enough I haven't written any horrors this year, but received a discounted entry so entered Woke, which started as a OWC but was more of a dark sci-fi. Needless to say, it didn't make it to the quarter-finals but I didn't expect it to. |

I didn't advance, but I was surprised it was a quarterfinalist. It was more sci-fi than horror, and only 6 pages. I didn't really expect to compete with longer scripts that were true to the genre. |

Is this the same comp from 2019? Surely they don’t ordinarily take this long to settle on a winner? |
